I've been wondering about the lack of emotion too. There are few heads here and there that have that kind of intensive, longing stare. Private Island Beauties heads are all very expressive, 4Woods has some and DS dolls of course.

All of those are more in the high end when it comes to price.

I don't see any reason why TPE faces couldn't be made more expressive or portray a certain emotion. I don't think there is any technical limitations with TPE in regards to that. Wasn't trying to make a point towards any specific material being better. I'm in the fabric doll club so you rubbery doll owners can fight about that amongst yourselves. Leave as softies out of it

She definitely looks better with the black hair and brown eyes! About the expression, it is the final details that really matters, the tone of the skin, the make-up, the wigs, the dresses etc..

That's what it comes down to, the make-up, skin color, even the lighting for photographing the doll makes a big difference. Also, for the blonde head, she is missing the eyelashes for the bottom lids and having those piercing aqua green eyes staring just a little downward magnifies that "spacey" look that she projects.

The dark hair and brown eyes makes a big difference, plus she has the lashes for the bottom eyelids which helps tie in the face. The positioning of the head helps this pic as well. The acrylic eyes themselves could also be a little to big for the eye sockets. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes when choosing a 26mm or 28mm eye. A 24mm might be better, it really depends on the scale of the head and the size of the eye sockets. The clay sculpture pic looks perfect, but the blue(ish) eyes look a little too big for this particular head.

In any case, Rauha looks pretty damn good.

Not that I have personal experience, but from what I've seen if you play around with the eyes it's amazing how different they can look. Here's a recent thread discussing that with pictures (before and after) and instructions as a doll goes from looking surprised to sultry: http://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewtopi ... 11&t=83864

Anyone who is concerned about eyes that are wide open should check it out; it's a pretty incredible transformation. Almost hard to believe it's the same doll. Presumptively you could do the same for this doll? Might not be a bad idea to get some manufacturer pictures of her with different looking eyes in case they're a little to startled looking for some people.

You must have done a pretty good job because both the blonde version and the dark haired one look almost uncannily similar to two respective girls I know. And although I live in America, a strong majority of people around where I live are of Scandinavian descent. I don't know for sure where their ancestors hailed from, but odds are they're mostly Norwegian or maybe Swedish, as just about everyone else around here is.
