Potential new material for an inflatable doll
The material that it is made of, a new plastic that seems very puncture resistant yet
stretchy seems like it would have potential for a great inflatable.
Just a thought
Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
Not saying it wouldn't work, only that it wouldn't be as simple as with latex.

Is it a hot melt (poured after heating) or cold set with a catalyst?
Can the material be purchased and where?

Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
Yes, the ball is very squishable, but it's 3' diameter and thin walled. A doll of the same material w/a 1/8" thick skin would not be quite as squishy. ? is if the material can be molded into a nice looking doll?
Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
That stuff has some impressive properties. I'm sure the material could be used for a doll build but don't know about how it would work for an inflatable doll. I imagine if the skin had enough thickness, the doll would hold it's shape well and still be squishy.
The site states that the material required thousands of R&D hours to develop. I doubt they'll give the formula away.
I wonder whether these could be placed inside of an inflatable doll as the bulk of stuffing. There has to be a number ways to use these balls and especially the material.

Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
just a thought .
After checking out the web site this is amazing material alright , my other first thought that also came to mind these might be perfect 2 of them to inflate behind the breast area of latex dolls , making the breast soft and squeezable .
Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
The wubbleball is made from a kool material - although the manufacturer seems to be keeping a lid on the exact material - some sort of TPE of sorts - i think - i am no chemist and honest there are so many variations to plastic
The material is oily on the inside - which i think has to be - as its part of how the thing is made - and the outside is a bit tacky - not any more than say the latex that NMC was using to make their version of latex dolls - same feel
The material is actually thick and unlike a latex balloon in that regard - yet when inflated has some properties like latex - but unlike latex can be repeatedly inflated & deflated and no fear of it popping - due to its thickness - so better than latex
I have no idea if it can be made like an air babe - as thats a complex shape VS a ball - it does seem to be made in sections somewhat making that a possibility as the lower portion of the ball has been welded on where the air valve is located - on the wubble its a very complex design - but allows the ball to be inflated and deflated with a battery operated pump - there is an admonition - not to inflate with your lungs - probably because of that oily substance inside the ball
I think if air babes were made of this material - they would be more durable - as to long term - i have no idea - as latex can last a long time - as does Vinyl if taken care of -

That there appears to be some type of oil inside is interesting.
In the literature that comes with the item, is there a mention of incompatible materials the ball should not be left in contact with? Is there any information regarding temperature.
Any clues will be fun to think about.

Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
All good questions - Obin -
The instruction manual has no mention of the ball being incompatible with other materials - although it states when finished and deflated to put the wubbleball back in the plastic bag it came in
The ball can be inflated larger than the 36" its states to - they give you a tape measure to check as inflating - i think it could probably inflate to near double that size - but would lose some or all of the ability to be flexible - re-not pop when kicked or sat on
As to the material being used in an inflata-babe - if they kept it at the same or thicker density - then as an air babe she would be very strong - yes she would lose her shape of over inflated - but then so do all latex lassies

Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
People must really love their inflatable wubble bubbles
I say lets make some dolls with stuff !!!!!!
Re: Potential new material for an inflatable doll
They are available (wubbleball) at "Target" - in several colors and the deluxe comes with a battery operated air pump - which inflates very well - not a mass air flow pump - so this wubble air pump is actually perfect for inflata-babes -
You can also get extra wubbleball's too minus the pump - in other colors
You are right - Starchild - lets make some air dolls with this stuff -
