Need Advice on Selling My Beauty

Post by orogond »

Finding myself in a situation where I'm needing to raise some cash. I am seriously considering selling my VERY gently used Private Island Beauty. The selling isn't the predicament for me as much as the shipping is. I received her in a large cardboard box lying on foam, but I am intimidated by the idea of packing her up securely and shipping her out, since I'd like to package her up better than she first came to me. If anyone has first hand experience or advice, I'd much appreciate it. Thank you...

If you're comfortable with it, I've seen ads in the Buy & Sell section that offer the option of pick up and give a very general location for the purposes of the ad.

Having said that, care should be taken when meeting anyone lest you wind up as a news headline.

You can buy matress padding cheaply at walmart. You will need to buy 2 pieces. They come as a foam rolled up.
That will give extra stability

Understood, I would only meet at a neutral location, as I have no ambitions to make the headlines.

That sounds good. Finding the box would be tough. Having never sold a Doll before, the situation feels awkward. I was thinking of using PVC pipe to make an internal brace to surround the doll, then crate around that with heavy cardboard. I always envied Real Doll owners that handy crate they had for shipping.

Use lots of bubble wrap, styrofoam, padding, etc... whatever you have sitting around. When you think you have taped up the box enough, tape it some more.

I thank you and everyone here for their sage advice...After having made the preparations to begin the selling process, I have found myself conflicted to the point that i can't seem to bring myself to actually let her go. Patrick told me, "They become a part of the family." In a way, that's true. I imagined the void in my home that my missing doll would leave behind.

Maybe I'm too sentimental, but I just can't sell my doll right now.
