My 60 buck Lolly Pop

Post by starion »

Ok so I bought a really beat up Lolly here from a fellow member who was kind enough to sell her to me for 60 bucks shipped. I have been working on her for a bit and experimenting but I had one condition in this task. Well 2. I had to use only the materials I had leftover from other dolls in the past or I had to get the repair items from a dollar store or I had to find them for free on my own in passing(meaning I couldn't go out of my way to get something.) So here we go.

Bear in mind she has a LONG way to go till done.

I made this head out of a cosmetology mannequin head. It has a strong magnet inside of it so it can magnetize to the neck and be removed. I am going to fix up the Lolly head and she will have changeable heads.

The neck before and after. Still doing a little more work to the neck stump. LOL

Her head can now pivot any direction a normal head would and not fall off. Strong magnet.

Still a little sculpting left to do in the neck but it is a functional neck for the head to magnetize to.

Sorry I powdered her well so she has powder all over her. This is the head. I added acrylic eyeballs and eye sockets and upper and lower eyelashes. The eyes and head I had lying around and the eyelashes are from guess where.....the dollar store!

ordering arms and breaking my rules. ordering realistic looking ones from dapper cadaver. have to skin the arm balls so that the shoulder will rotate on the arm in order to move. just like most bjd(ball joint dolls) I wasnt going to make her with removable heads but the neck was so badly damaged in shipping that it was the only way to get it repaired. Lots of splits and tears and the back of the neck was deteriorated and thin with chunks of foam coming out so it just made sense.

I ordered an unfinished factory second of Jessica arms. Just picked the ones that looked best. Now I'm thinking they may be too big. Been working on roughing in the arm balls. Then my plan is to take a print in clay of each arm ball and sculpt a new posable shoulder, rub the wet clay with vaseline after sculpting then pour a plaster mold for each one. I will then lightly clean the mold halves, enamel them with clear to fill in imperfections and help with the release. Rub them with vaseline and pour thinned silicone into the molds. The hope is that when I crack them open I have 2 new shoulders already the color I want that will affix and rotate on the arms ball at the shoulder for posing purposes. Going to add more pictures tonight sometime.

I have taken over this project from starion. I touched up her mouth gave her eyebrows , new eyelashes, took her eyes out and reset them, they cannot be removed. Cleaned her skin almost perfect. She had delamination from her foam core, the aquasil came today. Lol. I also have to run a pipe under the can in her neck and down the inside of her torso

I have finished inserting the pvc pipe into her neck.

Now I am reusing a can of window and door foam the expanding type. Now her neck will support the new light magnet system . More on that later. Now to let her suffiantly cure.

I will be working out her shoulder system at some point.

to reuse the the insulating foam simply run some acetone through the valves.
