Yep, that's what I was thinking.
I just remembered I already have a scan of Fiona's foot I can use. :)

Yep Eva is keeping me very busy at the moment. Hope to get back on this project some time soon - she's so close to being finished.

Thanks JM!

We've been having a lengthy discussion about a full size ball joint doll in this thread if you haven't seen it yet... :)

You are very creative and I want to be able to use the 3d software as good as this, some amazing work. I like the way you have designed this and I bet this took some hours.

What is the finished product going to look like? interested to see

I know this isn't doll related but I thought this was so cool I needed to post it!
Who says 3d printing isn't "there" yet? 10 days to design (which I find a little hard to believe) and 2 weeks to print, but hey, given the proper skills and talent almost anything is possible.
He used two Afinia H479 printers like mine to print the 270 parts for this model in two weeks time.

YAY!
Finally somebody makes some skin colored printer plastic!
This stuff looks pretty good, and I can get it at B&H Photo with free shipping.
Been looking for something like this for a long time now. Not having to paint it would offer many advantages. :)
It's a bit more expensive than what I've been using but not too bad at $29 for a 700 gram spool.

I can highly recommend the Afinia printers and the company. This is a new one they just came out with that has a 10" x 8" x 8" print volume.
It's still on pre-order but they should start shipping in July. $1,899.
They are also coming out with a line of filament that is designed for printing larger parts on the H800.

Thanks.. I think I'm going to order this. Can you recommend which filament to use for best details? Hopefully this printer prints in high detail.. I've seen some on Youtube that weren't so good.. It'll be great to not have to create a clay casting out of the 3D printed image and then resculpt to add detailing.

The premium filament that is designed for the printer works the best.
It has a higher melt temperature than the typical ABS filament and the machine/software is fine tuned to use this plastic. It's a bit harder and gives closer tolerances and sharper details.
Also, the support material comes off very cleanly and easily using this plastic. It's about twice the cost of the average filament - $45 for 700 gram spool as opposed to $32 for a 1kg (1000 grams) spool of typical filament. But if your doing a mold master it would be definitely worth using the best you can get.
They also are coming out with the "Premium Plus" line of filament which is specifically designed for the H800. So when it's available you'd probably want to go with that.
They show it on the website but it's not in the online store yet.

OK, back to my poor little unfinished Abby project...
Been looking at some simplified makeup options that will work with the movable eyes.
I decided to minimize the lower eyelids so they aren't visible which I think gives her a cleaner look and makes the eyes look bigger. A bit more cartoon like but that's OK since she's done in a caricature style.
It makes it appear that her eyes are kind of floating in the sockets which I think could give her a fun unique look - a bit like a puppet or marionette style maybe.
This would also give more room for changing the magnetic irises.
