Aurora seems to like to grop, er, I mean paint with her left hand. The other hand could be natural pose. I know it doesn't matter which hand for design study.
OK, I'll take a look at it.
I need to load up the new versions of Makehuman and Manuel Bastioni and check out the new features.
Makehuman has many more features now ala Manuel Lab.

Awe, forget Kung Fu grip. Too many Bruce Lee movies.

I have found that Aurora's elbows can bend enough that she can put her hands on my chest so now I'm thinking she needs claws for scratching.

Hey you're in luck RK. The new version of Makehuman has a pre set pose with claw hands! :)

I just loaded up the new version today and played around with it a little.
They've added a new topology for muscles and more body details.
Also pre set poses and facial expressions. Not perfect yet but much better than the previous version.
Still no shoulder blades. :?

The Manuel Bastioni program also has a claw hand pose.
Haven't loaded the new version yet. I probably use it because I think the fingernail detail is a little better.
So how tall is Aurora now?

Cool. I was hoping that a claw type pose might be one of several common poses available.

Yes, the body features are much improved.
I like shoulder blades too. Seems to be more feminine where a rounded upper back is more masculine.

Aurora is 4/6, but the hands can be a little longer than her woman scaled down size. The length as discussed on the previous page would be fine. The 5" long ones on the graph. The claw type pose will also make the hands look smaller in pics vs fingers together lying flat.
-----------------------------------------------------
Notice anything different about Auroras face/ head besides her stealing Nikki's vamp wig?

MF, I've got some problems with the newest MakeHuman. The preview render is always glossy like skin-coloured polished metal. All the textures use the right colours, but the finish is glossy instead of diffuse. Is this just a problem with my Linux build, or does it affect other operating systems as well?

Besides, I'm just trying all those poses. Not quite as good as early versions of Poser, but getting there.

Hey CN,

I'm not familiar with Linux so I can't be of much help with that, but it could be an issue with Open GL and your graphics card.
Here's something from the help wiki about that...
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... help_me%3F

The main disappointment I have with MH is that you still need to use another program to manually pose the figures. So I still need to use Blender to do that. There's a way to export/import poses back into MH though...
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... e_poses%3F
They've also taken out the Blender exchange export format (.mhx) so you'll need to download the new mhx2 plugin if you want to use that...
https://bitbucket.org/ThomasMakeHuman/m ... n-exchange

Manuel Bastioni has some nice features, but you have to work exclusively in Blender. I'm not sure how it works in Linux though.
All in all, both of these programs are amazing for being free, and they keep getting a little better with each release.

Printing some claw hands today!
Kind of a new experiment so we'll see how it goes. :)

Printed in 3 pieces. The parts are hollow with 2mm thick walls so they can be reinforced internally with liquid epoxy or resin.
Using the magic "hollow" command in Meshmixer - works like a dream!

Wow, they just cranked out version 1.3 of Manuel Bastioni Lab.
Pretty cool stuff. Even have veins now! 8O
It's amazing to me that this software is still free...

Cool. I've installed MB Labs, but so far I haven't had the time to figure out how it works.

BTW, the latest MH has a working pose system with a library of common poses.

Hi CN,

Yep MH has peset poses - unfortunately you still have to use another program to make new poses. However, if you can save the new poses as a .bvh file you can add them to the library to use in MH.

MB labs is pretty easy to use. Just uses sliders like MH for morphing the model.

Nice stuff. Thanks for keeping us updated.
I assume this is adaptable for paper printing the multi layer templates for a foam doll?

Hey RK, YW. :)

LOL, almost forgot about that process already.
Yes it would work the same as MH for doing that.
