Fabric doll 6.0

Post by Genji »

Tried out a new 160cm pattern of my own design. Introducing Anna.

Found a supply of light pink velour fabric, which may be the same as this stuff
https://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/p110 ... fgodYC8N1Q
I like it. It has some horizontal stretch to it, which is a good thing. I was trying to make a curvy doll, which may have ended up slightly too curvy :)
Have ideas for a few dimension adjustments.

Thanks :D

Working on building two somewhat improved 170cm redhead versions of the pattern. I will probably put one of them up for sale.

And a 150cm or 160cm Asian/Chinese doll is on the drawing board, using a soft "camel suede" material. (may be the same is this https://www.fabric.com/buy/0374385/soft-suede-camel )

Please post pictures. The more fabric princesses, the merrier!

Thanks all :)

At least a couple of hours of work...not exactly difficult. Eyebrows hand embroidered on, eyes are Darice 15mm teddy bear-type inserts from JoAnns (eyeliner drawn on, eye whites 'painted' on with bathtub sealant), a bit of makeup with fabric paint.... Lips from a papier mache face making mold (which may be OOP; you can buy already made Teddy Babe lips) Much easier to finish up the details and then sew the rest of the head pieces. Wig from ebay--great place to buy used wigs.

Have been doing a bit more work on Doll 7.0 (who won't have a name until finished). Hope it provides some inspiration. Chin altered slightly, hopefully to give it better definition. Have thought of tracing patter and turning it into a PDF file. Not sure if I want to just give it away or not.

Good luck with the project!

How did you make this?
I have some of this done in an amateur fashion. I might post pictures and ask questions on how to fix it.

You need to post a few more times, before you can post any pictures. But I hope when you are 'unlocked' you will start a new topic with what you have completed. You will probably get some helpful suggestions.

As the title implies, I have made a few other dolls. I started out with the Nuno pattern, but started getting ideas from other sources, and a few of my own tricks. I like to think I have gotten a little better at it.

http://dollmaker.nunodoll.com/

It's a popular hobby with a lot of people. You can probably check out a few books from the library. Although there isn't much available information on making life size dolls, and no information about making something anatomically correct like a Teddy Babe--other than this forum.

In this case the fleshlight is held in place by a piece of heavy upholstery vinyl of the same dimensions as a fleshlight case--my own invention as far as I know.

Good luck,
