Hey CL thanks so much for all the kind words!
Hearing that really makes my day, and knowing that it's made a difference is what keeps me doing this.

After I get a few things out of the way this weekend I promise I'll try to get a video done on eyebrows and makeup.
Thanks to my good friend Begog, I now have a very nice adult looking head to serve as a model.
I am by no means an expert on makeup myself, but I'll do my best to show some of things I've learned so far.

I wasn't exactly sure where to put these, but I finally took some pictures of Cinnamon with her MannequinFan Eyes. I hope to be "live" with Cinnamon at L3fty's meetup if it's still on (North Houston, which is currently underwater, so waiting for confirmation).

In any case, Please forgive that I am at the VERY BEGINNING of my makeup adventure, so ... yeah. Her hair is lovely but I'm no pro with it. I did some eyeliner and lip gloss but I didn't have courage to do much more so she's somewhat plain. I hope to learn a lot more over the coming months and be photo-worthy in the not too distant future. The point is to show off what the eyes can do. So:

You can close her eyes for a demure or sleepy look. Shows off the lashes wonderfully. You attach whatever lashes you like to use right to the eyelids MannequinFan provides. I found it WAY easier than applying them to the doll directly, and they've lasted MUCH longer. And stay in place better.

You can have the -same eyes- "half open" (which I have yet to see on any doll) for that "come hither" kind of look. Better not have any fixed engagements on your schedule when you do this. I did a braid on either side of her head here, though I left the back free flowing.

And you can have the eyes open to see the beautiful color, and again it really shows off the lashes well.

I'll try to take more pictures as I get better (with practice) doing her makeup (and hair).

Hey thanks for posting the pics CL! :)
With practice, you'll get better with makeup. Just keep at it!
I'm still working at getting better at it myself.

BTW, I sincerely hope things are OK with you down there. The flooding is just awful.
Be careful and stay safe!

These look fantastic!

I think I'm gonna need to put some money aside for these. :)

Are you able to make just regular (non lens) eyes for TPE dolls? Ones that have more realism than the terrible eyes that come with TPE dolls. They ones sent by the factories in China, look like they have cataracts!

I hate the eyes that come with TPE dolls they SUCK!

I'd love to by your eyes and lids, as they add so much to TPE dolls, but I need them to look seamless on close ups too.
S
OK, over the weekend I did some experiments making a "seamless" eye.
I basically set the lens in an ABS slurry (plastic dissolved in acetone), then vapor polished the entire thing so the seam is filled with plastic and smoothed with the rest of the eyeball. Not Guy Louis perfect but I think it came out quite well. :)
The drawbacks of course would be many, but for those that can't live with the seam on the changeable ones, I think this can be done...

I've also been experimenting with using this clear 2 part epoxy for laminating the printed iris to the glass lens...

This is working surprisingly well and gives a completely bubble free result. The above eye was done using this.
And what's nice is that it's essentially waterproof unlike the Glamour Seal adhesive I've been using which will soften and dissolve when soaked with water.

The hardest part of the lens making is avoiding the trapped air pockets which show up as little silvery spots when the light hits them just right.
My only concern right now is whether it will yellow over time and affect the color of the iris.
The layer of epoxy is extremely thin so I'm not sure if it will really be much of an issue.

They both look great begog a makeup suggestion \ advice
Left \ right faces bring those lip colors into the eyeshadow ie pinks, purple's blues, it will make the eyes really shine, a slight darker shade around lips at the corners will give greater depth,or smile will give a illusion of super soft lips a small application of a lip gloss or glitter on the lips would also give that sexy wet lip mouth,
