Re: Building my Janis
Looks like you're making great progress so far!
Thanks for the mention by the way - hope the eyelids work well for your project!
A few things I discovered about the E123 module...
The 300 seconds that they advertise is a little misleading.
That's for the lowest quality sound (4.7K sample rate) which won't be good for anything other than moans or simple noises.
You'll need to use 12K to get any kind of decent sound, so the actual recording time will be much less than 300 seconds. Still a good unit though - with the programming feature you can use many short clips and mix them to create different responses.
Another thing is the speaker that comes with it is pretty bad.
You'll probably want to use a small powered speaker with the 3.5mm jack.
I picked up one of these a while back, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
Only about 5 bucks at Walmart - about 1-3/4" diameter...

Re: Building my Janis
Now i'm going to improve the eye module so i can xchange the eyes by mounting the RC truck shafts to the control ring instead of the eye itself, so the eye part is liberated from the u joint, and i ordered the speaker that Mannequin Fan suggested fur the voice

Hey BB, glad to see the eyelids worked out!BigBurrito wrote:Poured another mask, look ma, no road rash!, and using patolium jelly helped the release, also been coloring the plat cure with acryilic paint from WallyWorld, alot cheaper and available than SilPig
I've also been wondering if acrylic paint would work with platinum silicone. It works very nicely with the Permatex windshield sealant.
Did it cause any curing problems with the platsil?

Use makeup powder. It makes for great flocking.MannequinFan wrote:Hey BB, glad to see the eyelids worked out!BigBurrito wrote:Poured another mask, look ma, no road rash!, and using patolium jelly helped the release, also been coloring the plat cure with acryilic paint from WallyWorld, alot cheaper and available than SilPig
