@ MannequinFan... I would llike to ask... Why do the eyelids come with a charcoal-grey color on the outside, and a skin-tone coloring on the inside? That just seems completely backwards to me. Also, I've been hesitant to install my eyelids since they arrived, as they are made of a hard plastic material, and I fear that they might scratch my doll's eyes. Have you run into this, in your experience? Thank you for your time. (and also for the eyelids, of course.)

The eyelids are flesh colored. The pics above have been painted to match the dolls make up.

Hi lilbitlonely,

You must have some older ones - the pink color inside is the plastic color that I was using before. I'm now printing them with a black plastic instead of the pink.
Did you get them from Jeff at BCD? I don't see you on my list.

I've found that having the lids look more like an eye shadow color just works better than a flesh tone color that doesn't match the doll skin.
With so many different doll manufacturers and skin tones available it's just not feasible to match skin colors.

I have to apologize for the eyelid development being so dynamic lately, but due to increased interest I needed to find some better and quicker ways to do them.
I spelled that out here: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 9#p1087189
and here: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 5#p1118725

You don't need to worry about scratching the eyes - the eyelids are smooth inside and will just slide over the eyeballs.
If you want to repaint them to match your doll skin, any acrylic paint will work.
You can also remove the acrylic paint with isopropyl alcohol without damaging the lids.

Thank you for your response. I had been wondering. Yes, I got mine from Jeff. Thank you also for the links. I did some searching before, but couldn't find your posts. (I found many posts mentioning your eyelids, but not your posts.)

I, too, was shocked and then happy to find out about MF's untimely demise then resurrection! I'll just say that I too recommend his eyelids. They add such a wonderful new dimension to my dolls appearance. And the greyish color means they look good even without using makeup.
