Sorry for the late replies. Just came back from vacations.
Thank you very much Forb. I'm glad the Teeth&Tongue set works on a Sanhui head. Your girl looks so cute in these pictures!Forb wrote:VonRubber is quite obviously a perfectionist. The quality and craftsmanship is incredible. They feel indestructible, look fantastic and the design is so well thought out. I highly recommend them.
Thank you!MonAmour wrote:Amazing! Great work!

Making the tongues in TPE would require a technology I don't master. I also don't think it would make such a big difference visually. The Teeth&Tongue set is really only made to give some more expressions to a TPE head. It is quite small in fact. If you mean the tongues should be made of TPE for kissing or other things, I'm afraid this is not possible with this product.Babel99 wrote:Fantastic work Von Rubber! For an extra challenge, you should try making the tongues in TPE. I know it would be a completely new manufacturing process for you, but I am sure you would feel the market need for that within the first two days
I am glad you like it!david 68 wrote:they really make a difference..i"m glad i bought a set. thanks Von Rubber keep them ideas rolling.

I bought the first version, (1.0), Von Rubber ever made and I agree they would be so much nicer made into TPE!!!
Great job on (2.0) and (3.0) by the way. I'm happy you didn't give up on this concept

Re: Teeth&Tongue 3.0 available as Vampire version!
As an early adopter of VonRubber's 1.0 set, I've had a good deal of experience with these. One problem I've had is the vertical height of the mouth open and mouth closed two teeth row pieces. It seems the roof of the mouth on Von Rubber's #36 head for Svetlana is higher than in my #74 head, so these two pieces never fit very well for me. They always tended to tilt backwards so that the lower row of teeth moved forward and upper row back, giving an underbite.
So about a week ago I finally got around to modifying these two pieces in my set to fit easier. They are made of resin so it only took a handsaw to roughly cut off the "tails" and then my Dremel rotary tool with sanding bit to smooth out the remaining ends. 30 minutes of work at most with the most difficult part getting the pieces held firmly in my vice for sawing since they present a somewhat triangular shape.
I'm quite happy with the piece with a single row of teeth and have not modified it in similar fashion though I might in the future as I found it so much easier to take these in an out with such a shorter depth now. VonRubber, perhaps you could market shorter versions for quicker insertion and removal? Or have the tails removable through the same snapping mechanism you're now using for the tongues?
Here's a comparison from my summer photoshoot and my upcoming Halloween shoot with the open mouth piece. Sorry that its not the exact same angle or that the underbite is apparent in the original. But needless to say it should look at least as good, if not better with the shorter tail and is much, much easier to insert, remove, and position.

You destroyed your version 1.0 Teeth&Tongue set?
You should have keep them in the original state. I made less than 10 of them. They are colector’s items. but I guess if they don’t fit 100% they are of no use for you. If they work better like this then it is fine. I have changed the angles on the 2.0 and 3.0 versions but yes’ depending on the head they will work differently. I will have to make them adjustable maybe for version 4.0 or 5.0.

I tried that with my spare head #85 and I couldn't get it to look right, now I may sell her.

Re: Teeth&Tongue 3.0 available as Vampire version!
Had no idea a 1.0 set was so rare - I know 2.0 came along not long after I got mine though. Not like anyone really wants a 1.0 set anyhow, the coloring and paint was better in 2.0. (I gotta go to the hobby shop and get some paint to touch mine up.)
If I had another set I'd make an even more drastic modification. I'd cut the open mouth piece down the middle between the upper and lower rows and remove some of the tongue area, then glue them back together. This will create an open piece that isn't as wide as the original. Wouldn't work with the tongues anymore but it might be the right amount of open mouth for certain expressions.
