TPE Head on silicone body and visa versa

Has anyone modded a head onto a body of a different type of skin? I've settled on getting a silicone body but there are so many TPE heads I like! Just wondering if anyone had done it or knows of any companies that cross over in terms of proportions!

People here say that mixing silicone and TPE together will destroy your doll. Apparently one of those materials melts the other.

Oh my I wouldn't have guessed that, the one that melts the other causes some alarm....

I have put TPE head´s (OR&WM) on a Silicone body (JM) for years now...and so far no damage.
I f you´re worried, just put some soft plastic between....

Been done by quite a few around here. I made adapters for WM to JM and WM to DS and use my TPE heads on silicone. There is oil seepage sometimes, but no melting has ever occurred. Just use cling film between them

Oh so it is possible if there is something between the materials separating them?

Yes that seems to be fine and best. With the older heads from WM, now several years old, they do not leech oil. The contact between WM heads and neck of doll is very small and barely touches.

There are many blends of elastomers apparently, and I've seen a melt reaction by accidentally touching a UR3 sleeve to a rubber oral channel of a Pipedream product, don't know for sure if it was silicone. The rubber was fine but the UR3 was sticky and unstable for a while, yet seems to have solidified with no ill effects after, like it melted and then dried.

I've recently bought a silicone head and TPE body. Has anyone actually has their silicone heads damage the TPE body because if prolonged contact, vice versa, etc? If so any solutions to do about said damages? I like storing my dolls with the heads intact for long periods of time and I'd like to keep doing that without damaging either one.
