Mr G: it took me almost 3 hours to setup the dolls, lighting, bedroom, taking the pics, processing the raw material and generating the post. And you are right, getting the wigs in the shape you want can be pita, after the first series of pics you detect a fold in the skirt, some dust, a finger hiding detail etc.
I am using a DSLR and changed from 2/3 to full format sensor (36x24 mm) last summer, i.e. from 12 to 24 megapixels. I had to change preparations as well, details are much more exposed.
For lighting I use 2 Yongnuo flashes with heaxagonal softboxes (50 & 60 cm dia), remote triggered.

What do you think about lighting in the pics?
My intention was to resemble the lighting of the movie (mostly dark)

Hi GirlsGang, she´s amazing. I didn´t have problems with her fans but don´t ask me how I did it, it just went smoothly.

Tomoe is a great name - a great doll - and the mandatory companion for Shi. Mine keep her original name, she also has a fan in the left hand, and the sword in the right.

May be you can reconsidered your position, if you take a second look at the SHI caracteristics: because, Shi comes also with a normal head.
There's four differents models of SHI, and some have a set of two heads in the box:
- Shi Ninja version : White head and normal head
- Shi Armored version : Two white head (with different expression)
- Shi in Kimono (Asia) : simplified model, with only one normal head (not white)
- Shi in Kimono (US) : same as previous, with an additionnal white head

It's a long time since I visit the official Phicen website, and I discover that it has been updated !
All models of SHI are announced, but also SPARTA WARRIOR, VALKYRIE, RED SONJA
