Lylis' Adventure in the Emerald City
“Wee-hee!” Tiff squeaked delightedly, as Longshore Girl looked on with an equal level of excitement.
“Look what we got! Free choccies for breakfast!” Tiff giggled.
“What a great city this is!” Longshore Girl agreed, as she eyed the giant bars of chocolate and licked her lips.
Lylis thought about saying something, but, what the hell:
They were all on holiday, and Tiff was already at hyperdrive with the thought of seeing a real live American Football game that evening, so a little bit of chocolate wasn’t going to make much of a difference to the general level of over-excitement!
“Well, you girls have fun.” Lylis smiled. “I’m off to explore the city.”
Thanks Lyl,” Tiff beamed back. “See you tonight. Don’t wait up! Come on Longshore Girl, let’s go find somewhere to get our faces painted!”
“Go-o-o Seahawks!!!” Longshore Girl yelled, warming up her lungs, as they got ready to head off for the pre-game festivities…

Re: Lylis' Adventure in the Emerald City
The air had a slight chill to it, but Lylis couldn’t resist the temptation to dip her toes into the clear, inviting water - which indeed felt cool on her skin, and yet was surprisingly mild for this time of year. Next, Lylis took a little rest up on the rocks, while her feet dried.
But soon enough, she was ready to start exploring the heart of the city...

And she wasn’t disappointed!
First, there was the giant statue of Lenin, taking pride of place on a busy street corner… “Very tall!” Lylis noted.
Next on the list was the gigantic Troll, which lived under one of the busy bridges, leading traffic in and out of downtown Seattle. “Eek!” Lylis squeaked - after taking one look at the mahoosive beast - and quickly ran away!
Lylis swiftly found refuge in the local chocolate factory, down on Phinney Street, where the shop had buckets and buckets of lovely samples to try out… “Mmmm… coconut!” Lylis sighed. “My favourite!”
“Weeee! Roasted cocoa nibs! My favourite too!” Lylis giggled. "Hee hee!"
After all that lovely chocolate, Lylis needed a sit down, and found a nice spot, right across the street from Fremont’s local space rocket. “What a lovely, interesting place this is.” Lylis thought out loud to herself, as she admired the rocket, sitting proudly, ready for take-off in some not-so-immediate future...

Anyway, after her tummy had stopped rumbling from eating far too many chocolate samples, Lylis took a walk along the canal, stopping by one of the smaller, troll-free bridges to watch the ducks for a while… Then onwards and upwards, to the top of the promontory at Gas Works Park, where Lylis could enjoy a lovely panorama of downtown. “Oh yes!” she cried delightedly, as she peered into the distance. “The Space Needle!”
After another short bus ride, she arrived in downtown Seattle, by the Monorail terminus - just across the road from the Space Needle, which towered up high into the grey, autumnal sky... Oh dear! Lylis suddenly felt rather dizzy!
After taking the short Monorail trip into the heart of the city, Lylis stood and stared up in bewilderment at the very tall skyscrapers which clung to every corner of those hilly streets. “Oh boy.” She sighed. “I’m surprised the locals don’t all have constant cricks in their necks from looking up at all this tall stuff they seem to have everywhere!”

“Oh well.” Lylis shrugged stoically. “Maybe next time.”
She did, however, manage to catch a most beautiful sunset: The horizon was filled with beautiful pinks and oranges, which bounced off the buildings as the sun peeked under the low cover of cloud for a few minutes, on its way behind the land on the western side of Puget Sound...
..
On the way back to the hotel, Lylis stopped off for coffee in the trendy neighbourhood of Capitol Hill. She spent an enjoyably lazy hour, staring out of the window, watching the people walking by and wondering to herself whether or not Tiff and Longshore Girl were enjoying themselves at the football game…
Lylis hoped that they were.
...
“Wee-heeeee!!!!!” Tiff yelled at the top of her voice, as she stamped her feet in time with the rest of the crowd.
“First Down! Seahawks!!”

Mercifully, precious little game commentary.
Mine too! Go figure.A sighing Lylis wrote:“Mmmm… coconut!” “My favourite!”
Lylis, I think we have much in common.
In fact, why not ask Cosy if you could come visit.
I've a friend who'd like to eat, er, meet you.

Thanks! She does in fact have the whole ensemble, but only wears it when Eliza enforces a dress code for afternoon tea:Everhard wrote:Lylis is one hot little doll! She needs a pair of red shoes though.
I think Miss Elisabeth is trying to quietly hone the rough edges off of Lylis' feral nature, but she's got her work cut out:
our Lily is a free spirit and can't be tied down by such things as footwear and fixed-rate mortgages...
As ever, thanks for the input and constructive comments from everyone. Always appreciated*

Re: Lylis' Adventure in the Emerald City
I'm sorry, Cosy. I'll need to go back to rehab again. I, I just can't beat this problem.* except for those from netwit and his slightly scary miniature doll dietary requirements.
But in fairness, you brought about this relapse by waving delectable coconut-chocolate stuffed Lylis in front
of my face...
with cherry shoes now.
Anyway, I can't find anymore doll-eating jpeg/gifs, so your dolls are safe.....for now.

And just in case the point was missed because of my obscure humor, your BJD work is amazing! Thanks.
