a new obsession. just what I didn't need...

Post by Kagami »

any one else see the Monster High dolls? I saw some picture of them in a ad last year but my work never got them in, but we did this year. love. my 1st thoughts where of Scooby-doo there is a movie that is pretty much what they are. luckily my obsession is only for Draculaura, but I didn't want to spend the $30 so Ebay!! and now....I've spent a little over $60 but I got 3 of them. I had to have that 1st edition Draculaura which took 2 dolls to make one, and I had to get the Fearleader!! I may just build a speaker box around her and take her to work with me, I could use the support. any way I'll have photos in a few days of my new vamp girl.

Monster High are great! Very poseable and quite sturdy, considering how frail their limbs seem to be.

You can also get "build your own" sets of limbs and torsos. Which sounds like fun!

Of course, it will come as no surprise that I also have a few

I have Franks and Fangoria over in the cottage, to keep Vera company

Back in cosy cottage towers, the girls even have their own monsta house to live in,

and even a chairlift, which I mean to install once I've made some space in my bedroom. Weee! zipline fun!
But for now, the girls hang out on the roof.

Great idea of putting one of the girls in a speaker box/personal crypt to take to work!

Highly recommend the girls. As you can see, I have a soft spot for Draculaura too, and Frankie Stein (2 of each).

But I'm looking to get hold of a Clawdeen and also Operetta... I'm just holding off until Ze Monsta House is properly installed: otherwise it'll just start getting silly..... oh, what's that you say?... it's already gotten silly? Well yah boo sucks to be you! :P

I feel your pain Kagami. Bought one of these last summer on a whim. I started like you, as I just wanted Cleo De Nile. That quickly changed though & I now have pretty much all of them. 8O
They have amazing detail for what is considered a toy.

Here's some of my faves:

at lest I'm not the only one. when looking there is a listing of 27 for $700-opening bid great way if you wanted them all. there is tons of stuff, as an obsession I needed to learn about them.... Mattel makes them, but they are Barbies "Nemesis! in sales. interesting that they are web based, so I wonder how they became so popular? yeah we been selling a bunch of the crate-a-monsters. we only got 2 play sets in they both went in a day. shame they don't have a specific school uniform or I'd...well I'll probably end up...hmmm... no I'll save this idea to show later.hehe

Yeah, looking back now, I never thought I'd spend so much on them, it just sorta happened. In fact, if I added it all up now, I'd prob. be sick. Just to put it in perspective, I think I'm at like 113 MH dolls now. 8O And you're def. not the only one. In fact there's a whole forum dedicated to them, if you're interesting in learning more:

I think part of why they got so popular are the webisodes on YouTube, that lets you follow along with their story line (which has close to 100 vids now). Even though they're geared toward kids, I find them enjoyable to watch too. Guess I'm still just a big kid myself. :) Here's the channel link:

113 I'm walking away now I don't want to be pulled in.hehe who am I kidding I was getting ready to go looking for the show to watch them. Draculaura is a vegan, homophobic vampire....didn't even think that was possible, she is also smaller then everyone else this can mean only one thing. denial of what she is/could be clearly if blood(human) were to touch her lips she would go into a bloodrage.
