Re: The girls' introduction
I appreciate it very much. I do try.
My background is custom scale rc cars. I moved on from the rc world for a while. I still get the bug to build and be creative, so these girls are the perfect outlet.
I tried the stop animation today. I made 4 video attempts. I will post the 2 I like the best. They aren't perfect, but they are getting better, hope you enjoy.
This one has a lot of video pixelation loss due to the app I used, if it is over in 2 seconds, keep watching because it is a 3 second video.

Here is the 4th video, its getting better.

jorgereynoso wrote:Oh man!! The video 4 look very good!! Change alot from the first, u got how do!! How u improved like this? Need put more pics for the movements be more soft? I will try soon my first stop motion!!
The first video was a total of 120 pics. After I watched it, I could see that is was close to what I wanted. So then I researched for 2 hours. And went back to the drawing board. I knew before I ever started that I needed finer movements. So I tried that, and it was better. I didn't expect nor do I expect them to come out completely flawless, so I accept my novice attempts.
The stainless Phicens don't move as fluidly as one might expect, especially trying to get the the slightest movements on camera. Which is my next point. I use my phone for all of my photography. Its a Samsung galaxy s5. I was afraid that it wouldn't pick up the very minute movements, but it did far better than I imagined.
The second video is a total of 230 pictures. The movie maker playback setting is set for .05 seconds picture view. Meaning each individual picture is viewable for .05 of a second. The fastest my laptop will go is .03 seconds.
So with my galaxy s5 and windows8 Laptop, my videos aren't going to get too much better.
I'm not going to lie, it isn't that much fun taking picture after picture after picture, the fun is when you hit play and see it "come to life". Thats where the fun and smile is.
To those who want to try stop motion, here are my tips......
1...lock the camera down!! I used a big clamp to secure my phone in place. It is easier to reposition the model than it is to reposition the camera.
2...do whatever it takes to keep you focused. Get comfortable and keep the distractions to a minimum. For me, the kids were in bed. If you need to get up, leave everything on the last shot, that includes lighting. Don't turn anything off. Take the last pic, get up and do what you gotta do, and then return to taking pics.
3...don't rush it. Take your time. The finer the movement, the better the result. Do not be disappointed if you take an hour or so and take 230 pictures....only to end up with a 6 second video. Makes you appreciate the Lego movie that much more, and the nightmare before Christmas too.
4....try to keep the model as still as you can so the pics are more seamless.
As for everyone else who commented, thank you all for the kind words. You give me more credit than I give myself.
I'm really starting to love this place, you guys are awesome !!
