Anime statuette

Post by Everhard »

I was given this anime statuette at the weekend. She is just under 9 inches (23 cm) tall. No idea what anime she comes from:

Hi,
Nice figurine  .

I think that, she is Rei Ayanami, from the NEON GENESIS EVANGELION serie.
Link to wikipedia.

She is the pilot of the EVA00 prototype.

An articulated figurine is also available here.

That is a VERY nice gift!

The series is a little freaky.

They came out with that Larah Krofft doll recently so who knows? :D

I looked at Neon Genesis Evangelion a while ago, but it did not appeal to me. At least the opening battle did not.

I am a big fan of Chobits (a cash-strapped student walking back to his digs dreams of finding one of the new artificial women thrown out in the trash --- and what's that lying in the trash in the alley he walks through?) and Elfen Lied (a scifi story set in Kamakura; Number 9, wheelchair-bound but so dangerous she has had a bomb surgically implanted, asks her 'dad' if they will be together from now on. "Yes, I'm sure of it.") I even found time for Gunslinger Girl (a young girl's emotions create a disaster among the Italian government's squad of secret assassins) but those are the only three animes that grabbed my attention.

Chobits sounds cool.

I liked Elfen Lied but it was hard to follow with the switching back and forth from Mew to Lucy.

Have you ever sen the original GITS movie from the ate 90's?
Still pretty cutting edge.

I don't watch much anime on my own, mostly through friends, but I think she's either from Ghost in the Shell or Neon Genesis? One of those two.

I remember characters by their hair color. Purple, in this case.
