This peaked my interest;

Does any one have experience with such dolls?

How careful must I be when transporting such a doll of this construction?
I'd like to pack her into the woods with me for a morning or afternoon, and perhaps as a good luck charm when hunting. I need a garden helper too.

I think this is a 1/4 size BJD (ball jointed doll).
I have 2 1/3 size BJDs, they are more robust than my silicone dolls (see signature)
They have travelled 2600 km to and from last years UK/EU doll meet without getting harmed. On the trip back, they have been sitting on the backseats armrest secured by safety belt
A good sized travelling bag might be good for the transport, just use a towel to wrap her in.
Cheers

Yes, I think GirlsGang is quite right as she's 43cm tall she's a 1/4 BJD.
I have a 1/3 BJD (60cm) Katie who is made of a similar resin. They are quite sturdy but you will need to be very careful with the face-up so as not to damage the sealant over the paint. I always wrap Katie very carefully before I take her anywhere and ensure her head cannot get damaged.

Thanks for the info.
Any way to beef up the face-up sealant?

Those are Very Nice dolls that both of you have.

The 68cm female Elf also interests me, but she is probably too big for easy back packing unless the legs fold up reducing length. I've many back packs, and was just thinking that the game pouch on my hunting coats might even work. Heck same for an arrow quiver.

No there isn't really. They use a sealant called Mister Super Clear or something similar and it hardens over the paint. That's why you have to be careful because you can easily chip it. If you increase the depth of the sealant it isn't going to make it less likely to chip so it's a problem all BJD owners have to live with and take care about.

Ah, I'll have to educate myself about such things, good at painting up planes, trains, cars and ships. Have no experience in face painting myself.

I'd be thankful for a tutorial if anyone can link to one.

Doing faceups is somewhat different from. I prefer using powdered dry pastel for blushing and Derwent watercolour pencils for details, applying it layer by layer using Mr. super clear flat sealant as base and to seal each layer as needed. Be careful when using the spray sealant, to much will spoil everything. Lastly add gloss to lips and eyes as needed. I'll post a link to a tutorial later. I have used the above both to make original faceups on both vinyl and resin sculpts, as well as when touching up or repairing existing.
When changing or repairing an existing faceup be careful to remove or mask eyes and eyelashes, before applying the sealant and you may need to add gloss afterwards if you work on the lips or eyes (or nipples). In some cases you can use the gloss as sealant as well.
Observer that this only applies to vinyl and resin dolls.
