Help!! About Stain

Post by clown123 »

Does anybody know whether my doll can wear black clothes? Some people told me it will stain my doll, and some people told me as long as I wash them, there should be no problem, so I am confused, and if my doll is stained, what is the solution? Thanks.

Some clothes will stain no matter how much you wash i do not recommend lace, mesh, leather fake leather anything with sequins or plastic or any cheap ebay "costumes. Some people put a solid body stalking on their doll. If she is silicone or tpe. Do not leave her sit in clothes too long. Also powdering your doll before dressing her is a big help.

There is always some level of risk involved, but there are things you can do to mitigate the risk.

It depends on the material and how tight it is. Something that is skin tight if a lot more likely to stain if the colour is dark but if it is loose not so much. I bought a japanese school uniform for my doll and it had a navy blue skirt, I did not wash it and had her wearing it for 1 week and no stains. I would stay away from velvet material, that stuff bleeds colour and is not nice.
Best thing to do is get an insert and put the clothing on it then add a weight and leave it for a while, that should tell you if it stains or not.

. One vendor name kept coming up as being great at helping customers walk through the process, Booty Call Dolls. So I decided I would work with them on this first purchase, and did.

Scooter_ca,
What exact process did you use?
Did you use a cotton cloth?
Did you dab?
Did you wipe hard?
Please let us know.

Depends on the material, do tests on an insert ideally, or just check freqently, like within the first 15 minutes, hour, 2 hours, take it off to do a FULL inspection.

Satin (Shiny on one side, SUPER smooth on shiny side, does not stretch at all) so far seems 100% safe for dolls, and that is great because its an AWESOME material for you to feel your doll up in.
Every day people remind me why I like dolls better.

My entry is at the bottom of page three. This will take your right to it. http://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewtopi ... 8&start=44
I did a photos shoot in a dark room beside a fireplace and crumpled newspapers to get a roaring fire. However I did not notice the newspaper ink getting on my hands and then all over Daria. She had big black hand prints on her torso, arms and legs. Soap and water had no effect. She stayed like that until the next day when I could get some odourless mineral spirits. I started using a q-tip and it was working but the area to cleaned was so big. I ended up using a soft cloth that was quite damp with the mineral spirits and wiped it gently over all the marks. I did not dab, and I also did not wipe really hard. They cleaned up nicely and the ink was transferred to the cloth. In fact, the areas were I used the mineral spirits were now even cleaner than the surrounding areas. I ended up doing a light wipe over her entire body. being careful around any coloured areas so as not to wipe that off. Then I cleaned her with soap and water and then a heavy powdering.

I have also used this method successfully when there was a little red staining from her favourite red dress. She had worn it several times without a problem but perhaps this day was hotter and she ended up getting a red blush on her bottom.

I also use the mineral spirits when I an doing a complete makeup removal. Using a q-tip will remove all traces of makeup. But be careful because it will also completely remove eyebrows. I am not sure if there issues with the long term use of mineral spirits for makeup removal. I have not seen any. Although I don't do a complete makeup removal very often. Normally I just touch up what is already there.

Thanks,
Scooter

I have found that virgin olive oil is very good at removing make up.
In fact, it is great for removing ground in dirt as well.
I gave two baths using dishsoap with no luck, but VOO got off the dirt.
Thanks for your tips
