Yes. This will be good to know before ordering one of these.

Thought I share this. Have company coming over. So I took a pictures of the top of my Malm storage bed frame with a view without the mattress. I have tape around the edges as well to cover any view underneath. On the bottom right, there is small area of storage space without the need to lift bed, only mattress, and you can put your hand right underneath the middle of the front, and there is a deadbolt stopping you from springing it open in the center. Full proof.

Only Problem is that the weight of my very thick tempur pedic matress and plywood will not allow the bed to stay up open by itself. I have to use this fiberglass mop that I have thats the perfect length. I might eventually remove the plywood and replace it with something lighter.

EDIT

EDIT: If you look closly, this open Part is walled underneath, So you can't stick your head under and peak, and you cant put your hand behind the dead bolt and just turn it open.

There has been a lot of talk throughout the forum about this bed, so any details that you can provide will be appreciated by a great many here.

what is the difference between a head bolt and a skeletal neck pipe and how does one put an eye bolt on the neck pipe. from what I have seen, only a head bolt is visible...

2. You are screwing onto the head bolt which is also not meant with weight bearing in mind. An eye bolt large enough to fit the skeletal neck pipe is what you want.

We admire your ingenuity Too Much Fun, and hope that we have helped! Happy and safe hanging!

Thought I share some more pictures of my storage solution.

It's really messy right now. Put all that there when I was in a hurry. She is laying on a memory foam sheet that I need to trim. As you can see, my mattress is thick, and the plywood add even more weight so the bed can't keep itself open without that mop.

That's what it looks like when you lift the mattress in the bottom right corner. Here you can stick your hand under and lock/unlock the dead bolt.

Dead Bolt. Need to make adjustments to the wall to help with peaking, and sticking hand underneath deadbolt.

Quickly put some masking tape to help with peaking.

This is the best commercially available doll storage that I have seen in all my years here. The only way to do better is to build your own solution from scratch.

My bed

Neat. Seems to be about the most discrete you can get - apart from, say... a hidden closet behind a wall or secret moving bookcase thing

---

Because my future doll is fairly short, she'll be able to fit in this custom-built wooden chest my grandfather built for my fifth birthday. Quite convenient, how that turned out... even more happy I didn't get rid of it at this point ;)

A casual observer of your bed would never suspect that it contained storage within it.

Oh no. I have had family and friends and girls over! Around my fridge by my bed, and on bed, everything. The fact that I locked it relaxes me. This storage bed has made me really happy. It's a must have if your able.

If anyone would attempt to open it and fail, I would bark at them, tell them to mind my privacy.
