oil bath pictures

Post by abracadabra »

Once a week give my doll a bath using only baby oil. Typically I will take paper towels or dried out baby wipes and soak them and baby oil and I'll start off with a wipe down of the doll neck to the feet and get the body saturated with oil so where's it shiny then I follow up with a credit card or something rigid and remove the oil and what comes off doing that process is rather disgusting and this is only after a week .I bathe my doll every week this is just from changing clothes for different photo shoots and sitting in different poses this is the filth that comes off of a doll.
Once this process is done a very light powdering is only required she's not sticky at all barely needs to powder
I do believe it does help prevent drag when putting clothes on and also helps prevents a certain amount of staining .
it takes me of roughly an hour from head to toe. I will usually take a small paint roller and saturated with baby oil and insert it into the cavities and which maybe potentially dirty along with Vaseline .
I never use soap and water partially because it doesn't do any good and I really do not like mold.

Wow, that is really dramatic! Did you ever use soap and water or just oil from the beginning? It might be safest to prevent mold if water is never used inside or outside, but does mineral oil do enough to clean without soap? It looks like it does here.

I used soap and water once but didn't really clean that well.
the baby oil works by far better , and it's good for the tpe.

Do you think using just oil from the minute you open the box is okay? Then you never need to worry about drying out the cavities, just oil, wipe, powder and go?

Anything with oil is a dust, lint and hair magnet.

I think it would be fine.

Yes, you cannot use petroleum jelly or mineral oil on silicone dolls.

it just the corn starch or baby talc that mixes with the oil that looks like dirt mud.

When the dolldries and you powder her this will keep her looking good. I have a cute but dirty tpe doll here, that needs maybe 3 or 4 go arounds to get the dirt off of her. She is 2 years old though. Keeping your hands ultra clean before playing with a tpe doll will keep her nicer for longer. This doll being a 2014 doll was very dirty. It took 3 washes of baby oil on the body and five washes for the hands and feet. I used the hand wasgh with baby oil method. Then while she was wet from it wiped her down with anti bacterial wipes. The result is really lovely. I will post pics of her cleaned hand after i finish fixing her wrists up.

Is it ok to use a sticky lint roller in cleaning too ? Or is it impractical ?

Give her a good bath with warm water and soap when she arrives. Oil alone isnt any good. There might be industrial toxins on her fresh from the factory, as well as who knows how many people have had their hands on her. Make her yours and clean her well. To avoid getting water in her cavities when you wash her...simple, just dont get water up in there. Over time you might decide that an oil bath alone will do just fine...but get her sanitized first.
