Repair to TPE private parts

On the UK Forum I bought a second hand OR156H which had only been used by an artist for photography.

On arrival and inspection I have found the vagina split, and damaged by solvent degradation

Horribly annoying. £795 down the drain.

What might be the best approach to any sort of repair and how successful might it be?

As odd as it might seem, I use silicone adhesive (permatex) and it works fine. This type of silicone will not harm tpe. Anyway, I have used it on my YL148 and repairs are good. After 1/2 hour of glue setting, apply light powder to dull the shine. Enjoy

That's a real surprise! Will it actually be effective on a TPE vagina which can be expected to experience friction, shear stresses with leg movement and stretching upon the insertion of an insert?

It works fine to smoothen the surface and even to remold large areas and to mold in additional material.
Because of the fumes you need a gas mask (about 80€ inkl. Filter)

and a good ventilated place. A big fan behind or next to you will help, too.
You can try it on an insert first.
For me it's the best way to repair TPE.
I tried almost everthing from remolding with Xylol, repairkits, digital temperature regulated soldering iron (second best in my opinion), glue, ....
I'm confident it's no big deal to do the repair with a rework station. Just be careful harem not to melt parts you don't want to reshape because if everything would go wrong, she would really be only for photography.

Thank you for the link from the mineral oil article that brought me to this article and the situation from your TPE doll.

As you said, the pre-owner used baby wipes containing Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin.

Phenoxyethanol (Ether) is used as a preservative in cosmetic.
Nivea creme has 1% of it, but with all the mineral oil included it doesn't harm TPE.
Ethylhexylglycerin (Alcohol mixture) is used for soft desinfection in cosmetic and deodorants.

I do not know why baby wipes are recommended for TPE dolls and why people are not doing long term tests before providing recommendations.

It seems that the seller did not do a mineral oil care with the TPE doll and he used a lot of the baby wipes for desinfection.
Ether and alcohol, both are causing a dry out process inside TPE, because both chemicals are binding the included mineral oil from the TPE.


Let's see what happened:

Here we have TPE granule (similar type as the Jinsan TPE) in different ether.
As you can see, Ether does not dissolve the TPE granule.
But the granule pieces are now a bit bigger.

Here you can see 3 pieces of the TPE granule.
All pieces soaked off the ether, thats why they are now increased in size.

On the left side we have original granule pieces and on the right side the granule pieces after the dry out process of about 3 hours.
The granule pieces, which were in contact with ether, are now hard and shrunken.
Most of the mineral oil, that was inside the TPE granule, is gone because of the binding process with the ether and the subsequent evaporation.

The TPE structure is destroyed.
It is not more possible that the destroyed TPE granule structure can be restored with mineral oil.

Haremlover, just the same, in a slightly weaker way, has happened with your TPE doll.
And because of the situation, that it happened in a slightly weaker way, we should try to do a mineral oil restoration of the TPE structure.
Before talking about repair methods, we should try to bring the TPE material back in a normal status.
It doesn't matter at the moment, which repair method we choose.
If the TPE structure becomes not enough stretchable, it will cause another damage (cuts and stretch-marks) next to a made repair and all efforts for a repair would have been wasted.

I recommend a mineral oil treatment with vaseline around the private area and especially inside the vagina.
Haremlover, please apply vaseline as a thick layer every second day and please do this for 2 weeks.
That are a total of 7 treatments with vaseline.
Vaseline needs about 16 hours for absorbation.

And please do a test, how the TPE material feels in the current state and after the 2 weeks.
If we have success with that, we can talk about the repair.

How is the status with the vaseline treatment ?

I soaked with baby oil and vaseline as instructed.

I tried TPE glue,

which I've now got the hang of using it but it pulled apart.

My own mixture of TPE dissolved in Xylene didn't look promising either

and pulled apart.

Graham at LovedollUK demonstrated a TPE filler which he used to build up an anal repair.

This looked promising

achieved inserting a craft knife handle to preserve the hole.

However the new material pulled away from the old when the legs were spread.

A better result was given by a variable temperature soldering iron with a setting for 200 degrees. Plunging this in and withdrawing quickly melted the parts and allowed them to be pushed together. This appears to be the way to go and a second session of this technique led to results that promise near perfect repair, I hope.

From what I have experienced so far, melting in areas to be subject to stress particularly on this between the legs repair appears to have more promising chances of success than chemical application.

Yes - absolutely, and especially with newbies to dolls who don't know how to treat them.

Members with a number of dolls are most likely to
a. know how to treat a doll
b. know how to clean and keep a doll near perfectly
c. credibly say that they have been used for photography only (I don't take photographic TPE dolls to bed as the fingers get bent wildly) or that they have been bedded only on less than a handful of occasions.

Adverts from people with only one doll to their history and less than 10 posts should be earmarked with a red flag if they make claims to singular or only photographic use or at least, under the new rules where people are allowed to comment only with regard to intention of buying posts asking about such matters should be allowed.

However it should be noted that I bought her through the UK forum rather than here.

With luck, with remelting the TPE with heat, the vagina will be repaired and reconstructed as new. Fingers crossed.

Hi Harem!
How many watts does your soldering iron have?
I'm looking for a temperature regulated with 100-150 watts ore more.

Welding of steel and aluminum (and soldering) is one of my hobbies, too, so I tried welding of TPE with different methods.
If you use a heat gun or rework station you can make it look perfect again.
With TPE you have to be even more careful than with metal when you repair it.

It's very important you start at the ground when you fillet weld and work your way up!
The welded area can look perfect and start tearing from the inside out and deeper to the inside without seeing it. So take a closer look over the next time.
Never leave sharp "edges" anywhere. If you ever made CAE calculations you know why TPE tears so easily and can be very stretchy, too if its molded right

If you were to reheat the area with a hot tool like a soldering iron, you can repair this damage easily by going in circles around the hole until everything smooths out. My soldering iron was a straight rod shape. It worked for me but maybe you would like different shaped bits for your particular repair.

If you were planning on having sex with your doll with this method, expect the tear to reappear. The same is true if you use TPE glue from my experience.

If you only intend on making the hole look better and more presentable, I recommend the soldering iron approach.

Make sure to not burn the tpe. If you keep the tool moving around, you will only melt the area and everything will seal up nicely.

The soldering iron repair will hold up great if you only intend to spread the dolls legs!

Extremely important!!!
Work in a ventilated area!!!
