Is it possible to repair this damage?

Post by Virgin_Doll »

My doll has suffered damage during transport.
Her breasts are almost completely pressed and deformed, and there is damage to the neck.
For clarification, there is no damage to the skeleton or incisions, only malformation of the TPE to the neck and deformed breasts
It's a DH168 doll of 161cm.

Question 1
So, my question is very simple, is this kind of damage possible to repair?

Question 2
For any compensation, who is liable for this.
DH 168 or FEDEX ?
I also ask this question because there is no damage to the shipping box

Sorry to see that VD :(

Don't have any tpe advice either.

I would contact seller. Normally i believe the shipper is the one that must deal with the shipping company anyway so...

Thanks Sofos

I have been in touch with DH168 for 2 days and so far there are no problems yet.
I ask these questions to know which way to follow.
I do not like to create more problems than necessary

The lines on the breasts will probably go away on their own. I would suggest using a very warm towel on the areas effected. Here's what you can do:

1. Use a wash cloth, or small towel and run it under very warm water until it is completely soaked.
2. Put the warm cloth into a zip lock bag and seal it
3. Place the bag on the effected area for several minutes.
4. Remove bag with cloth in it and gently massage area with finger tips
5. Repeat several times.

The creases might not come out right away with the process but it will encourage the TPE to take its original shape. You might also want to do one treatment and repeat the next treatment the next day.

Yeah, compression marks and deformations usually disappear within a week or two, as the TPE slowly regains its original shape if you let it. The above mentioned method with warm towel and massage is a popular method to speed up the process, although I haven't tried it myself. You will get similar marks like this from tight clothes and if the doll is somehow resting on harder surfaces as well.

So no worries!

The hot towel method can be used to shape TPE to an extent and has been recommended since WM started up on this forum.

TPE is resilient and tends to rebound to its cast shape. According to some, the process can last for several days. I don't know to what extent.

You might want to give Samara a holler to see what she suggests. I think she's worked with TPE as well as with silicone.
笑. It's good for you.

Something like that it should reshape on it's own to be honest. I say give it a few weeks.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my latest gal, UPS had stood the box on end in the truck so when I opened it I could see that her feet had been pushed up as far as they would go leaving deep grooves in the tpe. I thought of using a wheat bag, warmed up in the microwave and applied on her ankles over some white stockings. Amazingly within a few hours the grooves had practically gone and the next day everything looked normal.

Thanks MonAmour, Nord, puma uma and Arthur1960.

Your answers are very reassuring.
Now I already know which way I'm going to follow.
I will first ask permission for DH 168 or I can try this, a matter of warranty :!:

I have another next question.
I have a cherry pit pillow that can be heated in the microwave oven.
Is it possible to use this for the treatment you are discussing?
I ask this question because I do not have a TPE sample to try this out

Hi VD,

The above members have given you spot on advice that will solve those issues with patience and a little time.

Do not rush or force anything and let the tpe return to its cast shape with the temp treatments.

I would be careful with the heated pillow unless it is tone neutral as new doll sweat a lot of oils when they are new, so any colors in the pillow will be drawn into the tpe and stain the flesh (unless it is in a sealed non-permeable bag).

For information for those who are interested
I got permission from DH168 to allow the hot towel method on my doll without loss of warranty if it goes wrong.
I'll try to remember to post some pictures of the evolution of the possible recovery process.
Also report that I gave the patient the name Maja.

Another question
When should I wash her for the first time, oil and powder?

I had similar creases, the shipper said just to gently apply a hot towel or blow dryer to remove the creases.
