Mechadoll charred foam, broken thermocouple, help!!!
Re: Mechadoll charred foam, broken thermocouple, help!!!
Re. adherence to the foam: I did find something interesting during surgery. Cloth reinforcement is a given, I thought they may have used a powermesh type material or something that they glued / embedded in molding to the skin that had a nap to it that would grab the foam. NOPE. Stretchy t-shirt material is in there! Also, more importantly, there is a clear membrane made of I-have-no-idea-ium that is kind of a bitch to get off both the silicone and the urethane foam. So, there you go. I had to bank on the mechanical bond route, meaning I pulled little bits of foam off the surface to make a rough dimpled pattern in the otherwise smooth skinned foam. Then I silpoxy'd the hell out of it, basically like a glue-primer. The cleaning the inner surface of the skin with acetone and putting on a thin layer of silpoxy, again as a primer. Finally carefully gluing the skin back in place, inch by inch, to minimize the cut. Still working on that. Have a great boob in place now, that was a BITCH to get the jiggle I wanted! More soon, and thanks!
