For all these stuff, be sure to comply to the for sale rules.

affirmation of auction clause
Addressing auctions:
- All auctions must have public open bids, posted in the sales topic and must state whether shipping is included in the bid or not.
- An auction must have a set end date/time, which cannot be extended, with the only exception being there are no bids.
- An auction must have a fair minimum starting bid made by the seller for as low as they'll accept. If any amount will suffice, your starting price should be $1, or the equivalent of shipping.
- The seller must state up front whether the shipping price is included in the bidding or not, if not, they must also state how much shipping will be or make a generous estimate.
- If the person who won does not honor the deal, you must sell to the last bidder at their visibly posted price.
This is all strictly in the interest of fairness.
ALL AUCTIONS MAY ONLY END A FULL 24 HOURS AFTER THE LAST BID. THE END PRICE IS THE SALE PRICE.
As with regular sales threads, auctions must comply to the Rules mentioned above.

Re: affirmation of auction clause
Pretty much, yeah.Obin wrote:Just checking for myself. According to the rules, the bidding is not allowed to extend past the stated ending date; however, the statement that the auction isn't to end before 24 hours after a bid appears to be an addendum. Does the clause mean that a bid made one hour before the auction's end time extends the auction by 23 hours?

Re: affirmation of auction clause
Either 1) auction ends after 23 hours of no further bids....
-OR- 2) auction ends at a specific time and date (period....no further bids allowed)
One of these options should be clearly defined at the beginning of auction.
I personally don't like the 23/24 hour extension rule after last bid. It generally favors the auction seller. But it does give time for some to participate that don't access TDF several times a day.
I would like to see in general for auctions held here; a 24 hour pre-announcement that a auction will occur. No other details need to be given- just a heads up.
Just my 2 cents....
