That could well be the case Bianca. We're still getting enquiries and there's months to go before the meet. I guess they must know that the worlds most famous doll will be there

From Bob Gibbmodoll, Thanks Midiman and Kharn, a great job you Guys did to get everthing up and running, i only hope i can do as much as last year to make this the best meet ever.

I have to go in for surgery sometime soon, don't know when i am waiting to hear, so we really need you Guys this year as i don't know how things will go for me, or how much i can do after, but i hope to be there even if i have to get tin legs.

However, i don't think i will have my dolly's this year, well maybe one, it's to much for me, i am happy to show anyone around Gibbmodoll anytime the meet is on or after.

Ideas from anyone would be great, and me and Timbo will do our best to get things up and running well before the meet.

As I said on the phone, I'll take the strain this year where possible, you just enjoy the meet and don't worry about bringing all the dolls. As long as you, Liz and hopefully Timbo are there, then that's all that matters.

Hello everyone, on behalf of Gibbmodoll I've been asked to add some places to go close to the meet for photo shoots with the dolls, you may like it here if it's a nice day, take a look


Also The Hedge Puzzle at Symonds Yat, there is also a butterfly zoo and a crazy golf course.



All being well a few more venues will be selected. The Castle, built in 1180 has been used on a previous visit so should be familiar to some members with photos shown on here and at Gibbmodoll http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum ... lly&page=6.

Are you thinking of coming to the meet SwedishBoy? If so, then let me know and I'll get you into the meeting room, where all the relevant information on the meet is.

Wish we could, but 2012 marked the first year since it changed hands in 2009 that it actually generated enough revenue to pay its bills.

Keeping TDF free to visitors and members has been our primary mandate.

However, who knows what the future may bring. Maybe one of our more wealthy members might want to make a donation for such a contest

The castle video is amazing. I'd love to go to England. Even if I don't make the doll meet, I'd still love to visit England. Looking at the castle video is like looking at actual history. Walking inside it must be like riding a dinosaur. It really looks like in the fairy tales books. Standing in that castle would really feel like being in a time machine. Never mind the dolls, I could just enjoy touring the old stuff. Perhaps the tour guide would explain what everything was. I didn't think these things still existed, or if they did, they were cheap replicas. I was expecting Dracula to come out or the Witch from the Wizard of Oz to fly by at any time.

The UK has been the inspiration for Hollywood from the beginning of the cinema. One could say that's it's a kingdom of castles, hence the saying "an Englishman's home is his castle."

Also if you visit York (the place New York was named after), you will see one of the only walled cities in the world still intact and the world biggest minster. York was the northern head quarters of the Roman legion and later a Viking strong hold in Britain.
