Re: Cell phone pictures
Or could TDF manage any image processing to allow uploaded pics to be rotated?
Best wishes

Re: Cell phone pictures
No doubt you're aware that a photo was posted. What you may not be aware of is that it was filled with EXIF data (nothing too personal, like GPS coordinates, that I noticed). I did see this information on your phone's model, though:Stewie studmuffin wrote:Ok after experiencing a psychotic episode or two trying to figure this shit out, I MIGHT have something here!
This is only a test.
Code: Select all
Camera Model Name : LG-LG231C
I seem to recall posting information on this in a couple of threads recently, but I could find only one of these posts:haremlover wrote:Another problem with mobile derived pics is to get them rotated the right way round. Are there any tips for that?

The sort of rotation you want should be done automatically by browsers, but it looks like the popular ones aren't doing so when the images are embedded in forum thread pages -- but they do if you click the image to view it in isolation. In theory, the forum software could do some post-processing on uploaded images, but I don't know how practical that would be with the phpBB software this forum uses. In practice, forum management seems reluctant to tackle it even for stripping GPS metadata from photos, for both technical and legal reasons:

Girlfriends are for guys who haven't found the right doll yet.
I feel much better now that I've given up hope.
Re: Cell phone pictures
See the whole thread on EXIF data for several suggestions on how to remove it. Since you're transferring photos from a pre-smart phone, you'd need to use software on your computer, and the details of what's best are partially a matter of personal preference and partially a matter of your OS. Thus, the list of possibilities is rather long, but the thread provides lots of options. I'm sure you can find one, given those pointers.Stewie studmuffin wrote:Thank's for the heads up symmes. As you can probably tell, I'm no tech expert. In fact I barely know what I'm doing most of the time! So I'm always nervous about having too much information fall into the wrong hands. I don't see any way to remove this EXIF data from the pictures. So you think it will be safe to post my doll pictures? I only have a limited amount of pictures from the cell phone. Any new pictures will be taken with my ancient digital camera.
