Re: No more mini dolls?
Well, that's a shame... Seems strange they'd cause issues. Weren't they designed to have an adult body on a smaller scale? At least there's a small doll manufacturer here in the states, I suppose.Quellis wrote:It is a customs issue. Time to sue someone then, they aren't illegal to import. Someone is abusing power in customs if this is true.Quellis wrote:It is a customs issue. I spoke with John of Ds Dolls a few days ago inquiring about them and he told me they don't pass US customs.

If you own a boat and sailed it to China, purchased and obtained the mini-doll on their land could you sail it back to say the U.S? Or would you still have to go through customs? Also same question but now assuming you have your own home port, meaning you happen to live in a place near the ocean?

Re: No more mini dolls?
Maybe TDF members need to start a mini doll LLC or something to bypass this nonsense. How many members are on here 200-300? Just think if say 100 are U.S members each chipping in about $100 month that's $120k that can be used to at the very least build the mini doll mold, get the necessary build materials for a first run. Two years to get an operating facility (small scale) and maybe one or two people to work on build orders. It be slow at first buy then with orders coming in the LLC can be solvent enough to hire additional people.
Re: No more mini dolls?
The custodian of records verifies that said doll is modeled based on an adult (21+) model.
How hard is that to enact?

I think if she were a bit smaller they'd consider it a child body figure nonetheless and flag it for child pornography product. The world's morality has gone to shit with power abuse

IMO, here's where DS Doll and other manufacturers of 100cm Dolls ran into--and will continue--to run into problems...unless they make changes.
Even before the "Creeper Act," some DS 100's got confiscated.
Now, I don't want to get into a verbal wrestling match with the folks on TDF that swear DS 100's faces look "adult," BUT, to me if you're dealing with subjective opinion as to age estimation, then you need to make appropriate adjustments to mitigate problems:
FACT: Creeper Act aside, we now know that ANY AND ALL DOLLS in the 100cm height range have attracted and will attract MORE SCRUTINY.
(1.) PROBLEM #1: FACES. IMO, FACES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT GO-TO MARKER OF AGE. Therefore, if Manufacturers continue to market 100cm Dolls with faces that can be subjectively-discerned as dipping below 20 years old, i.e., into the teens...you're asking for trouble, FULL-STOP. While "under 20 years old" sounds limiting, when it comes to 100cms, ageing faces up--instead of down--is the smart move.
SOLUTION: Play it safe and create and market 100cm doll heads/faces that ANYONE...ANY REASONABLE ADULT--would immediately recognize as a woman in her MID TWENTIES AND UP. Yep, that's UP, NOT DOWN. If too many people say she looks under 20, i.e., 18, 19, etc., scrap that head and start over till you get it right.
(2.) PROBLEM #2: TITS. So, we know 100cm's height draws immediate scruitiny and the heads/faces even moreso, however, let's not forget about tits...while we know there are many adult/mature women with "A" cup and "B" cup tits walking the earth, fuller, larger breasts indicate and correlate with MATURITY. Making 100cm dolls with "A,""B," or even "C" cup tits is asking for trouble and just gives more ammunition for authorities to drop the hammer.
SOLUTION: Play it safe...In the case of 100cm's, make them with nice, full "D" cup tits MINIMUM. Hell, if the doll's a 100cm, "D's" make for a nice jiggly hand-full/mouth-full anyway...it's a win/win.
(3.) PROBLEM #3: PROPORTION. Overall body proportion. Making a 100cm Doll that is representative of an accurately scaled-down adult/mature women isn't rocket science folks...But, it boggles the mind how we've seen and still see 100cm's with heads too damn big for the body, arms too short, legs too short, all sorts of screwball combinations, which, unfortunately, you guessed it, gives the doll an odd-looking, and sometimes more child-like proportional appearance.
SOLUTION: A doll's head and body should be 7 1/2 to 8 heads high, arms long like an adult's, shoulder width wide like an adult's, hip width wide like an adult's, leg length and torso length all need to be representative of a scaled down mature woman.
IMO, DS 100's were fairly "body-proportion acceptable," unfortunately, IMO, they (DS) threw themselves under the bus by making the Eve and Eva's faces (to some) subjectively discernible as under the age of 20. To make matters worse, DS made Eve and Eva with "C" cup tits instead of offering the option of larger "D's." Again, IMO, that lethal combination killed the Western market for DS. If they had just made more mature heads and bigger tits for Eve and Eva to be sold in the West, IMO, they could've sold and would still be selling a s**tload of these otherwise wonderfully executed, high-quality dolls. Sad...
In conclusion, I'm not advocating Doll manufacturers produce 100cm's that look like worn out old hags, but for Christ's sake, producing dolls that are irrefutably, unmistakably mature (but still hot looking!), i.e., where ANYONE would recognize the Doll as mid-20's and up will still be attractive to buyers, but even more important, be an effective solution to legal scrutiny.
As a positive side-note, I have it on good authority that Aiko Doll right now is working on a 100cm, and I, for one, am very curious and excited to see her unveiling...
Cheers!

Once you start boxing in those specifications then the hobby might as well be dead.
Not every real woman is going to have D-cup sized breasts why should the mini-doll
Some women do look 20 and younger, so why then, rhetorically speaking, should the doll not be afforded the same admission?
These aren't solutions. These are concessions that completely rob the entire point of the doll making art.
Why should we and manufacturers have to concede to those who have ZERO clue what the doll world is all about?
Doll weight is a HUGE issue for some folks and its nice to have something that is small while looking like a young adult. And DS Doll with asian heads I mean, any objectively cute/beautiful, young faced asian woman with a small body frame will look like a teenager and that's raw nature at work so why not capture that essence in a doll that can be massed produced for anyone to enjoy at a significantly lower weight and travel ready physique?
What's really CREEPY....is a woman ordering and carrying a disembodied schlong in her purse. That's creepy!
