I need to build a crate !

Post by maximus_II »

Could one of you tell me where I could find the dimensions for a shipping crate? Body 7 .This doll didn't come with one and that makes for a really good story. I might be able to have it built off pics .Measurments would be best.
Thank you!

Hi Maximus,

You can buy a crate from e.g. Slade (www.realdolldoctor.com) he often has used crates.
If you want to have a new type crate, maybe you can buy one from Abyss.
You can also build one yourself, but thats quite a job.
For the dimensions, use the search function of TDF, they can be found.

Crate Size

Post by Fantasia »

If I remeber right, the Real Doll site defines the crate as 6'x2'x2'. Hope that helps. It shouldn't be that hard to build a crate. Good luck.

yep use the search function or ask the Crazy Doll :D

dimensions of my Nov 2005 B3 crate are :
height = 187 cm = 1,87m = 73,6''
width = 82 cm = 32,3''
depth = 55 cm = 21,7''

with skids removed ( skids are 9 cm = 3,6'' )
depth would be 46 cm = 18,1''

Image

note that measurements are taken with crate standing upright
like shown in my picture above
with crate lying down, height = length and depth = height

The corners of the crate are from real wood, and that's about 2 cm thick. The darker inner sides of the crate are 0,7 cm, some cheap plywood. Inside, there's a horizontal wooden part on the back side. That's where the mounting bracket is fixed to. Apart from that you mainly need some foam pieces, one in dolly's back so that her ass won't touch the back side of the crate, one to keep legs in position. Those should be cut out to fit to her shape. The mounting bracket is like a hook fixed to the crate, that is bent upright in the front part to fit into dolly's neck bolt. Talking about neck bolt... all this is just in case dolly has a neck bolt, if not you needed to do an older crate style for dolly sitting ( think Britti_Lover still has such a crate ) I'd so some more pics but RealMom is gone with the camera...
