Safe Operating Temperatures Regarding Water
Someone new and just took the dive into getting a doll. I've been trying to do a bit of research regarding TPE and Silicone. As I understand silicone is typically more resistant to warm/hot water compared to TPE. Well, not all silicone is created equal. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on what's a safe temperature range the dolls can be in without warping and disfiguration to structure (really hot water cleaning etc)? Also how water resistant/proof are they (I know some folks clean via showering etc, but in regards to submerging)?
Thank you!
Re: Safe Operating Temperatures Regarding Water
For temperature of water, Keep it lukewarm or baby bathwater temp
Assume you live in a cooler climate, but down under we have days that get uncomfortably close to 50C and the tpe still seems ok

Re: Safe Operating Temperatures Regarding Water
Most silicone can make it to 400 plus degrees Fahrenheit before melting or deforming.
Silicone is nothing like TPE in this respect. TPE doll threshold for melting is much much lower than silicone.
No doll should ever be submerged in water whether silicone or TPE.
If your talking about bathing and cleaning a silicone doll, you can use as hot a water as you want.
Wouldn't recommend boiling water as that would be overkill and a hazard to you.
