National Day is a public holiday. This one-week-period is also known as "Golden Week".
All businesses are closed from October 1st until 3rd.
Some offices are closed from October 1st until 5th and will resume work on October 6th.
During the public holidays, no new shipments will depart from mainland China.

My doll had a UPS tracking update yesterday (October 1st in China, 5 PM) saying she departed the facility in Kwai Chung, HK. Does this mean that UPS is still working?
National Day is officially celebrated in HK, but it is not the same as mainland China, more distance to Beijing. That's why UPS routes cargo through the 'periphery' where public holidays are handled more creatively. If a shipment has passed customs for export, it will go to international transit and move.

Thanks for the reply. So since my doll hasn't cleared customs yet, does that mean she will not leave China until after the holidays?
