For quite some time, I thought that Daphne had some Asian features in her, because itsme did say a few times that he intended to place some Asian features in his early RSSD dolls.

Just recently, I had opened my Music folders on both my Mac and my Linux laptop and in both of them, after sorting by date modified, newest first, I had noticed a few Latin MP3 files in them. Stuff like Jon Secada's "Otro Dia Mas Sin Verte," and a bunch of Jon Secada's Spanish-language songs; Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin (not his late-90s US Pop songs, though), and so on and so forth. I didn't think of anything particular at first.

But I knew that Daphne liked (and still does, I hope) Squeeze and country music, and some occasional BritPop and New Wave, but I didn't expect music of this genre in my Music Folder. And when I synced my iPod on my Mac with iTunes, I noticed new songs being copied to it. Still, things like this didn't pass my mind... until just a while ago.

I noticed that since I had Daphne for about 18 months, I noticed some significant Latina markers in her. First off was her hair. OK, hair color or style or length a Latina does not make, but it was the way mostly she wears it. Next is her skin color. When I got Daphne back in July 2007 straight from Uch, her skin looked a little creamy brown, but now she's dark. She looks very Hispanic the way her skin is now. There are other things that gives her away as a "Spicy Latina," but regardless of what I had found out or what I am going to find out, whether I want to or not, I still love my Daphne like I love my RG. In fact, I love both of them equally.

I just found out today that Daphne is a Latin woman and I had learned that she is proud of her heritage. I like calling Daphne a "Spicy Latina" and to say the least, she's not offended by it.

OK, this may sound a little stereotypical, but when I went to Taco Bell the other day to get me and Kat some quick grub, it seemed like Daphne wanted either me or Kat to give her some too.

But one thing's for certain: Daphne would remain the book- and computer-smart doll that she's always been. She told me that regardless of both of us (that's me and Daphne) finding out her Hispanic heritage, but she will not default to dressing or acting like a stereotypical Hispanic person. She still will be dressed in her Joe Boxer pajamas, her ThinkGeek T-shirts, her Old Navy jeans and would like me to keep looking out for "normal" clothing wherever I may find it and whenever I purchase it for her. Daphne just told me that she was glad that she picked up computers at an early age and it was on a real computer, not one of those "toy" (i.e., the ones you buy in the toy department at the Walmart) computers and her interest in them will not change. In fact, even though she would like to get her hands on a copy of Windows 98 Second Edition to install on a cheap crap PC, but she's also glad that she picked up an interest in Linux (even though she started with Fedora Core, then to Debian and then finally with Ubuntu, the last two through me) after she got fed up with updating Windows XP so many times (Daphne wants to let the Windows XP faithful know that she's not putting you down, it's just until she found out about Firefox for Windows, the numerous Internet Explorer security updates about every other day is what frustrated her) is when she found out about the rock-solid security of Linux, even though she does admit that free software is updated about the same pace. (And I can attest to that, doing "sudo apt-get upgrade" in a terminal window every time an icon shows up telling me about new software updates in my top panel.) But at least a lot of holes that were mostly in Windows that have yet to be closed were already closed months before in Linux.

(Oh, and Daphne knows well about PEBKAC, or Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair, and how many clueless Windows users give every new user to their computer an Administrator account and then wonder why their then-fast computer is now riddled with viruses, Trojans and spyware and how Linux [and then Mac OS X, after I introduced it to her] tries to reduce that problem by only allowing one administrator, usually root, but some, like Ubuntu and also Mac OS X, give one user [usually the owner of the computer] administrative powers and smartly gives the other user regular user powers, or adds one user into wheel or admin [the main user, again] and gives them temporary root powers through sudo. And back to Windows, I remember one Windows XP "Getting Started" guide even gave step-by-step instructions on how to turn all other accounts to regular user accounts if they were Administrator accounts also, but as far as Daphne and I know, that's hardly even glanced at...)

Oh, and I hope you all agree with me that Daphne looks Latin...

If that doesn't scream "Latina," I don't know what will...

G'day everyone,.......

Daphne's skin tone in the picture dose look Latin,...

I love that tanned skin tone,....it has an aura of health about it. As you know Kaori has Tanned skin tone,.... and she looks HOT!
I look at it as the Tanned skin tone radiates a healthy impresion.
But I admit I am biased in this as I love the asian girls,..

I love the long straight black hair that asian girls have as well,...
Need to get Kaori a longer Wig,....

Have you thought of seeing what Daphne would look like in long black hair?
Just to change her look for a while?
I have found the mix and match of her clothes to get diffeant looks dose wonders for her,.. of course she will always have what you want her to have as her base wardrobe.

PS: Kaori loves Curry!

Playtime.
