Heh. I had a few ideas going into this contest but after I thought of this title I couldn't do anything else! And, cleanup was tasty. There is something erotic about eating the ice cream off of a little elf while she watches you do it... Would recommend!

"Aaah! Glissa! You almost made me lose my page!" complained the startled mage.

Glissa giggled. "Sorry Veyronna. I couldn't resist!"


I had fun figuring this one out. I didn't want to just go for a doll getting wet because that's exactly what I'd expect me to do. I fiddled with the concept of using the water to give me a nice warped image like I got. Once I knew I could do something with that I figured out the location and set up the 'library.' After that I started messing with the lighting. As I moved the light around and looked at the shadows I moved the light directly over the glass. It lit up like a light bulb! A total accident, but I love the results! It got me second place which I believe is the best I've ever done in the mini contest, so I was pretty pleased by that.

This was a time consuming one to make! Not the gif, that was the easy part. The props! Luckily I was building the portal as a prop anyways and being able to use the contest as a reason to get it done probably sped up the process considerably. Yes, it was inspired by Stargate. Look forward to seeing it in a story piece soon-ish!

This photo was agonizing. I set up Rosebud with a seed in her hand and set up my phone on a tripod. Directly behind the camera is a patio door. Using the stylus as a remote I could trigger the camera when a bird came while I sat inside! I plugged the phone into a battery pack to keep it charged. Brilliant. The downside is that the camera app automatically closes after about 2 minutes of no interaction. To prevent that I needed to interact with it in some way every ~90 seconds. The only way to do that remotely is to take a photo. Every 90 seconds.

I sat there for 3 hours to get this shot...

Honestly, it's more Rosebud taking me out into the wilderness than me taking her. I mean, the little nature nymph lives there!

Well, there was that 3000km roadtrip I took Arachne on last summer

I do want to get Arachne outside more. Why I even have a few photos of her outside that I haven't released yet! The biggest problem with her is logistics. I've taken the whole clan out in winter for an outdoor shoot and that was infinitely easier than getting Arachne out at any time of year! I do have hopes and dreams of getting Arachne out more and I'm sure some of these ideas will even come to pass at some point. Part of the problem is just getting her out of the house. She's heavy and getting her into a car is not easy! Then there's finding somewhere to shoot her. I am blessed that I have access to my parent's acreage which is where all of her outdoor photos so far have happened. I hope to get in another road trip late this summer and instead of driving 1000km a day for three days, I hope to make more stops and get both Arachne and some minis out of the car. I have a few places in mind. The last problem is getting her away from the car. Now I do have a wheel chair for her which opens up a lot of options that didn't exist before. Lastly is comfort levels. I have gone farther than a lot of doll owners by simply getting her out of the house! If I'm going to take her out of the car I need to be okay with someone seeing her. That is truly the hardest part! If you see photos of her in a hotel in August you know that I've made some advancements in that area! (I want to take her with me, the question is whether or not I'm going to be brave enough to take her. I've scouted out the hotel. I'll have to unload her from the car outside in front of the hotel, push her up the wheel chair ramp, through the lobby and to the elevators. The parkade is not wheel chair accessible.)

Don’t know how you and others do it with the bigger ladies. Beyond just the vulnerable exposure, the logistics! I can barely manage their weight and difficulty posing in my home.

Many talk about the robotic revolution they seek… and how much they want a doll that can walk and talk with them.

I’d settle for one that could twist her own hips in the opposite direction!
