mmmmmm....Lishe
I own a Volks doll of similar size and design (about 60cm, or 21", tall). You can see her here:
http://homepage.mac.com/perryy/doll
and you can also see her in my Member's Gallery here.
I have really become taken to these ball-jointed dolls (BJD). Recently I've become interested in the Lishe.
Here's a page from a Limited Lishe owners website which shows off the doll very well. The above image is linked from there. Limited dolls of any type generally come with unique makeup and outfit(s) that you would not get with the standard version. However, body and face shap will be the same, generally.

The Lishe dolls are made by Cerberus Project and are sold by Luts and other sellers such as Domuya http://www.domuya.net/ (click on their sidebar item "Dolls") as well as by individuals who provide a "buying service".
Be aware, thought, that the Basic Lishe comes without makeup clothes or wig. However, some places (like Domuya) will include makeup and wig..for a price...you just have to check the description. Most sellers are good about answering your emails.
A great starting place to learn about BJD's is here:

I hope this helps,

You'll probably start wanting clothing pretty soon after getting her. Outfits are expensive. That's part of the reason I've been learning to sew.
She will probably not have fingernail and toenail polish. That's something that you have to do yourself...if you want.
You may want furniture for her too. Something you can put her on so you feel like she's part of your life.
I'd recommend you buy a doll that already has makeup and a wig. Then you don't have that hurdle to jump.
You may want to join a couple of discussion groups to learn about doll ownership...get your particular questions answered.
Does that help?

If you're not into anime, drawback for photographic model is that the eyes are too big in proportion.
Other drawback is clothes. You almost have to get a 12" tall doll that can wear Barbie clothes if you want any sort of extensive wardrobe. Caution: Barbie clothes are bitch to get out of the box - and largly unnecessary. I all ready have had one bad experience with best outfit. They sew the damn clothing to the back end of the box. So I have to clip it with fingernail clippers.
With this particular article, the thread also unraveled the sleeves.
I like the breasts of the doll pictured because I like the idea of it having a figure once it has good fitting clothes on.
Someone has to remind me - I had doll clothing links for taller dolls. I'm not sure if sites were ever entered into Web Links.
If you own a high-end doll, check out Owner to Owner forum for Inkling's posts about doll and clothing sizes. I'm sure that's where I posted place(s) carrying different sized clothing for different sized dolls.
Yes - at the time I was put off by the prospect of having such a doll. If the clothes are as expensive as a person's clothes, I'd rather spend the money on Darlene.
Technically, it's not a crosspost because it only has excerpts.

Long internet search left me frustrated, because names of dolls and clothes were given without specifying clothing sizes. nnng... grrr...
and:
OMG! - it costs as much to outfit RDoll!
Here are solutions:
http://directory.google.com/Top/Shopping/Crafts/Dolls/
I checked out subdirectories of above link and found:
http://www.lilliedillies.com/clothes.html
Prices are actually reasonable, unlike 40 dollar clothes I'd been looking at.
/endquote
I just checked. These links still work. Nightware link has clothes 10 to 13 USD - very reasonable. SOoo - this leads to another further along the same post, because site lists dolls the clothes fit. So here are sizes of dolls, in height:
copy/paste
Betsy McCall 14"
Gene Marshall 15-16"
American Girl 18"
Daisy & Willow ??
Barbie 12"
Takara Jenny 10.5"
Tiny Kitty 10"
Candi ??
Tyler Wentworth 16"
Alex Fairchild ??
Kitty Collier 10" tiny, 17-18" reg.
Here are other doll sizes above company does not make clothes for:
Jan McLean 26"
My Twinn 23"
Dolls By Sandie 22"
/copypaste
Now I remember why I did not get 21" tall doll. If I was going to dress her right, I was going to be just plain screwed.
I wish they sold dolls whose height was um, attireable.
Farengi: What?! You make your human females wear CLOTHES!??
