I felt like taking a little video, to show everyone what Kayla's range of motion is.
It includes her neck, arms, legs, and waist (spine), and at the end, there's a boobie squeeze:
DISCLAIMER: The movements demonstrated in this video work for my doll, but don't have to work for other dolls, so always contact the manufacturer when in doubt. I take no responsibility.
While I was uploading this, I noticed I forgot to show how far her legs will open... <oops>
Kayla says hi, and she wanted to treat you all to this:

Very good vid, thanks for posting it. Not owning a silicone, it really gives me more of a sense of how the joints move, so I know what I'm getting into if I ever want to take the leap.
Very thorough video, it should almost be required watching for any perspective doll owner. This video will likely answer alot of questions newbies have even before they have to ask them.

BTW, wow, those ankles look tight.
Yes, the ankles and after them, the wrists are the tightest joints on the body. As you can see, I really need to grab onto the foot, and use it as a lever to get her lower leg to rotate. This may be different on other dolls, as my old Body 6 Realdoll is the complete opposite.

Thanks a lot for sharing, AlexKnight
A video like this really tells a lot about the doll and I am very impressed. Kayla is a true star (I guess she already knows that)

Great video, Alex! How about the fingers? Are they floppy or will they hold a pose and also hold things? Thanks.

The fingers have wires in them, like all Realdolls have (unless requested otherwise), so they hold the pose you put them in. They can be bent to hold things, but they don't have any grip, because there's no force put onto the object.
So, for example, she can't hold a wine glass just between her two fingers, but she can hold the glass, when the fingers support it, like Star88's Kalei shows here:
Posing the fingers so they look real is tricky business, as there are no "bones" inside the fingers, just a wire, so they can bend in places, human fingers can't. Stacy has mastered the posing of the fingers to great heights, something I can only hope to achieve.

Awesome video. Very informative. It would be great to see something like this regarding each of the manufacturers. Hopefully you will inspire others.

Very nice vidoe Alex!!! I ready found out from the video i posted below that Abyss started making wikied dolls that could move their bodys from side to side thank to something new they put into place in the wiked dolls but I didn't know you could twist their wrists like that. Does anyone know if RD2 dolls can twist their legs and wrists like the one shown in AlexKnight's video ? Thanks for sharing !

Well, my 5,5 year old B6 Realdoll can also twist the wrists and feet, the same way Kayla can, so they either removed the feature, and put it back again, or it has always been there.

Thanks for the reply Alex. I'v had my doll for about a year now and her whole body is still very stiff. It took me about 4 months to force her head to move from side to side. After watching your video I tryed moving her wrists but just like her head they would not move. Because a dolls hands and figers can sometimes be the most delicate part of a doll i think I might contact Abyss and ask them before forcing anything . That is if I can get them on the phone.
Not complaining here, just adding a different voice... Kalei must be the exception to the rule. Her wrists are extremely loose, not so much in the rotation but in the up and down range of motion. They almost flop to which ever way gravity pulls them. Cheers
