My Silicone Love in London

Hi Everyone,

First of all: Happy new year! I hope for a good year for all of you.

The film My Silicone Love with Everard is going to be shown in London next weekend. I don't know how many of you live in the UK but I thought it might be a good idea to tell you this in case you have time to come see it.

I always point out to people who use the term that they don't refer to someone's wife as their 'sex wife'...

However, I don't see 'sex doll' in the title.

The blurb for the London Short Film Festival mentions 'sex doll', but without a network of commissars standing over every web administrator and sub-editor in the world, we cannot control what they write in the couple of minutes they allocate to that task before moving on to the next write-up (or shagging the office secretary, or whatever they do next).

Glad im not the only one Everhard. Considering the title and the content it would have been nice to see 'Love Doll' or at basic minimum 'Silicone Doll' oh well, we'll change the world one day......

And a computer isn't only used for accessing the internet. We don't call them an "internet computer", and a doll isn't just used for sex, so why call them a "sex doll"

Yes, we´ll do. At least the people who will see the film will know better when they leave the cinema. It´s one step at a time.

For the same reason people call an AR-15 an "Assault Rifle".[0] Because of sheer and blatant ignorance propagated by the media.

In the military, there is a running joke on this. If someone calls a rifle like the AR-15 an "assault rifle", the response is usually, "it only becomes an assault rifle if I decide to smack you in the head with it."

[0] God that term really pisses me off.
