I guess she's lucky she didn't glue herself to the PC.
I have a dollalbum, with loads of nice pics. My twinsister Erika has her own album, which also has some pics of me hanging out with her. We have our own thread where we post our pics. Stop by and say Hi!

Don't forget to take a look at my girlfriend Juliana.

My Lexi visits lots of places. Allison is featuring in her travels. Allison has her own thread too.

If you have checked the hardware as Anglian suggested, you may need a complete hdd format or replace, and install a fresh operating system by disc or usb, don't forget to update your bios at the motherboards manufacturer support page before an OS reinstall.
Anyway sweetheart, you look great, Von is treating you very well I see, give him our best wishes, and biggest hugs from Carly and Tilly to you both.
Regards.

Pete.
Hiya Mr. Pete!
I'm doing fine, thank you!
You must be reading my mind (or you've talked with Von about this)! I've already downloaded and updated the BIOS. I have another hard drive set aside to install a new OS on. First I plan on "fixing" the current WinXP install ... find and fix any corrupted sectors and files, update the drivers, if available and still supported ... in general, get the current install running again. Then pull that hard drive and replace it with a blank one. I'll have Von go through all his software and pick out a new OS to install, have him download all the drivers for his ancient hardware for the chosen OS and ... go from there.
Thanks for the tips Mr. Pete!
And thanks for the kind compliments sweetie!
Big hugs and kisses from me, Von and the rest of the Clan!

Aww your very welcome my pretty little lady, I'm a bit of an XP-osaurus myself, I do run Win8.1 on my tab and Win10 on my teen sons gaming PC and Win7 on my surfing tower. but I have a penchant for old PC games, and apart from being a rock solid OS, it carries the ipx/spx protocols needed for linking and lan play.
Good luck, Tilly and Carly said to say hey to you and Von.

Wow Von and Nina, the continuing saga of Nina the Techie is absolutely enthralling.
Hanna's now started asking me to let her know as soon as there's another installment, we're gripped, (and not with pliers).
Nina actually knows more about PC's than I do, so it's been a bit of a learning curve too.
What more could anyone ask for in a post, a beautiful intelligent young lady with a wicked sense of humour, and the possibility of learning something, that does it for me.

We love this one, I've saved it in Hanna's personal photo album

Hi Von & Nina,

I'm loving this, so much so that I also check this thread every day hoping that there has been an update :)

Nina certainly knows her stuff, well done. Its a good idea to upgrade to a 64 bit O/S, if the hardware will support it.
... eventually we're going to install a 64bit operating system ... with 64bit addressing, the PC can use ALL 4 gigs of memory.
Ahhhhhh ... I see ... NOT!!
Von ... you have a 64 bit computer and you're running an old outdated 32 bit operating system. It's time to move on Dude!
B-b-but ... I have programs I need!
I can take care of that too ... don't worry sweetie ... m'kay?
Ooookaaaay ... I trust you Neener.
Don't panic Von, if Nina decides to go with a 64 bit O/S like, for example Windows 10, I can confirm that WinXP will happily run in a virtual machine under Windows 10 as per the attached photo. I too have an old application that needs WinXP (or earlier) to run, looks like Nina has it all under control.

Nina gets my vote as the prettiest Tech Support Tech.

.....could this be a theme for a future photo contest over in the eye candy forum ? It would be interesting to see who could be 2nd and 3rd :D

Hiya Mr. Pete!
You have quite a variety of Windows installs going on Dude! Von insists on having a working install of XP ... whether native on it's own hardware or in a virtual machine. I keep telling him that he may be able to run his old proggies under "compatibility mode" in the newer versions of Windows. For some reason, he is resisting me on this suggestion until I can actually show him it's possible ... HARRUMPH!! He keeps insisting on XP is "the one" for running his "stuff". I'll show him ... <GIGGLE><GIGGLE>!

And Mr. XP-osaurus, Von has told me stories of one of his old jobs working on a small network that was ipx/spx based ONLY ... no tcp/ip protocols installed nor available. New employees would come in bitching that they couldn't connect to the network with their "bring from home" devices ... hee hee hee. He would have to set up their devices (if allowed for use, that is) with adapters and drivers in order to access the internal network. Most would opt out and "settle" for using company equipment.

Anyway ... tell Tilly and Carly "Hi!" from me and Von!
Luvya!
