Hi,

we are looking for beta testers for a new stain remover for TPE and silicone.

It was designed an an alternative to the possibly toxic Jinshan stain remover that can be shippied with regular post, and can be applied without health risks.

The can will be filled with 40 ml of the creme. According to specs, 40 ml suffice to cover an area of approximately 350 cm² or five applications à 70 cm². Probably we will offer a 20 ml packaging as well. Estimated shelf life of the stain remover creme is one year.

This is how this stain remover works.

Hi,

the tinkerer - his nick name is Indigo - made some more tests with the new non-hazardous stain remover creme.

Test A: Edding permanent marker.

For this test, two TPE pieces and each one piece DS and 4woods silicone were coloured with a black Edding permanent marker. The ink was allowed to dry for 12 hours.

Now, to the upper row of samples, the new stain remover creme was applied. In the bottom row, Jinshan stain remover was applied.

Jinshan stain remover is based on mineral oil, so it should not be used on silicone.

The new stain remover creme was most efficient on both silicone samples. Both TPE samples still had some residue.

Now, the application to both TPE samples was repeated.

After 12 hours, the new stain remover creme has dried and cristallized.

After cleaning the samples, the new stain remover creme has removed the Edding permanent marker completely. The Jinshan sample still shows a coloring:

Test B: Worn shoe.

Now Indigo got experimental. He applied his stain remover creme to a old sport shoe.

The stain remover creme was applied to the white leather and the white sole of the shoe and allowed to work for 12 hours.

This is the result after washing off the cristallized residue of the stain remover creme:

Finally, Indigo applied the stain remover creme with a toothbrush; the effects became visible immediately.

Again, the shown tests are impressive.

Today, I received a sample of the stain remover creme, so I will do some own tests. Stay tuned ;-)

If you're going to be experimental about it, how about try using it to remove "yellowing" from old computers (pc/music keyboards and such) ? Especially computer keyboards, i wonder if it will remove the yellow but keep the print on the key caps.
Just a thought. Keep up the science! 0X

Great work Sandro! This sounds like a really good product. Is it going to be expensive though?
Also, have you tried it on tanned skin dolls or even dark skinned ones (I'm thinking of Nava who's coming my way soon!)?

Sandro,

thank you very much for the introduction of my new TPE & silicone stain remover creme and for posting this information under your patronage.

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear community members,

I'm Indigo and writing from Germany.
Please excuse my English.

First, let me answer your questions before talking about the Jinshan TPE stain remover creme (lab analysis) and more information about the new TPE & silicone stain remover creme.

@ Keyman:

The amount of used creme for removing the edding marker was just the creme on the tip of the used paintbrush, as you can see it at the picture.
It was really no problem for the new stain remover creme to remove the edding marker.
Because of the left coloring inside the TPE piece a small blob of creme was applied afterwards.
And after 12 hours it was gone.

The amount of used Jinshan stain remover creme for the second TPE piece within the test was much more and without succsess.
I tried it again with the Jinshan TPE stain remover creme 4 times after the regular test and I was not able to remove the left coloring.
Well, 12 hours with a blob of the new creme and it was gone.

@ LovesBlackWomen:

The new TPE & Silicone stain remover creme removes the inking / coloring caused from worn clothes.
Furthermore it removes ink and edding (as shown in the pictures) and greasy / oily soilings caused from neck bolts between body and head, mounting constructions for hanging the doll etc.

At the moment I conduct a very strange test.
Removing mold / mould out of TPE & silicone.
Sandro asked me to do this test.
TPE and silicone pieces are now placed inside glass containers with a mixture of old coffee pads, smashed bananas and milk.
Stay tuned, that is going to be very interesting.

@ Kee:

I made this test especially for you at a former white "Cherry PC keyboard" connected to a computer inside a maintenance hall for trucks.
Via wiping the creme removed immediately the dirt, oily stains, greasy fingerprints and the "yellowing" from the keyboard without removing the black labeling of the caps.
I did it with a small paintbrush and Q-tips (between and around the caps) and a blanket for the casing.
Honestly I did not expect this fantastic result.
My creme is not a "chemical cleaner with solvent".
All components of the creme are water-soluble and totally harmless.
As you have seen it with the white leather and the rubber sole from the test with the old sports shoe, the creme works also for cleaning the silicone used in the bathroom, shower and kitchen.

But...
All of this is a misappropriation of the stain remover creme.
I cannot guarantee if it also works with things you are trying at home.
The new creme is designed for TPE & silicone dolls.
We should focus on that.

@ hollows+fentimen:

The new TPE & silicone stain remover creme does not affect the skin colour of TPE & silicone dolls.
Because of the used components this is never possible.
The stain remover is not a bleech out creme.
I would never produce a creme with such an effect and calling it a stain remover.

Lab analysis of the original Jinshan TPE stain remover creme:

I brought this creme to my pharmacist because he is also a chemist with own laboratory.
He did not do a full spectral analysis because this would cost me about 1.000 Euros.
What he did was a chemical procedure to seperate and extract the included main components.

The basic of the Jinshan TPE stain remover creme is a mixture of paraffin wax.
That's the reason why this creme should not be used with silicone material.

The main component responsible for the stain remover effect (and smell) is methyl salicylate.
And there is a high concentration of methyl salicylate inside the creme.

You can google for methyl salicylate and you will find a lot of information.

In low concentration:
- flavoring agent in bubble gum (wintergreen flavour), mints (Tic Tac) and snus
- cosmetic products, parfume and bath salts
- cremes for rheumatism, muscle pain etc.

In high concentration:
- washing agent
- bleaching agent

Used with 100% concentration:
- bleaching of cotton for removing the color (recycling of cotton)

Methyl salicylate is toxic in high concentration.

Here are the recommendations from the pharmacist for the original Jinshan TPE stain remover creme:

- Avoid contact with the human skin through permanent use of the creme
>>> Wear disposable gloves
- Avoid contact with the eyes and the mouth, conduct a doctor if this happened
- Do a very intense cleaning of the material (the TPE doll) used with the applied creme

Additional annotations from the pharmacist:

- The little creme box must be labelled with a hazardous goods label
- A instruction leaflet must be included
- Vendors have to provide this information on their websides and during phone calls with customers

Information about the new TPE & silicone stain remover creme:

General information:

The creme is produced with the assistance from my pharmacist / chemist and tested / verified inside the laboratory.
All components of the creme are water-soluble and totally harmless.
The creme has no hazardous goods included and therewith it needs no labelling.
The contact with the human skin is harmless.
The creme does not have a cosmetic or caring virtue for the human skin.
The creme has a soft cleaning effect (against dirt and ink from a pen) on the human skin.
Applied on the human skin the creme dries very fast and can be washed away with soap and water.

Safety instructions:

It is recommended to apply the TPE & silicone stain remover creme with a small paintbrush or disposable gloves.
Therewith you are saving the amount of used creme.
As mentioned the contact with the human skin is harmless.
But it is possible to some people that the creme can cause an allergy.
It is my responsibility for you to mention this.

Please avoid the contact with your eyes and the mouth in the same way you do this with soap, shower gel etc.

Storage & durability:

I recommend to store the TPE & silicone stain remover creme within a cold enviroment.
You can store the creme inside your refrigerator.
Do not freeze the creme.
That destroys the structure and the components of the creme.

The durability is one year.

How to apply the TPE & silicone stain remover creme:

Against ink, edding, greasy and oily soilings the creme works immediately.
Just use a little of the creme and you will see the effect.

Against stains from clothing and dried soilings it needs a covering from the creme.
The creme does not penetrate the TPE & silicone skin because of the water-soluble components.
Place a blob of the creme and move the creme to cover the affected area.
Let the creme applied for 12 hours.
The creme dries after 6-8 hours.
Wipe the dry creme away.
Clean the TPE or silicone doll after the whole process with soap and water.

Situation A:

If the stains are nearly gone, do nothing.
The creme has an additional 12 hours aftereffect.
Therewith minor stains / soilings are gone within the 12 hour aftereffect.
This saves also the amount of used creme.

Situation B:

Repeat the procedure, if the stains / soilings are left.

As you can see the TPE & silicone stain remover creme provides you a flexibility in removing stains and soilings.
You can work slowly with a small amount of the used creme every 24 hours (12 hours applied / 12 hours aftereffect) or you can switch to a "turbo modus" which needs a bit more creme and using the creme every 12 hours for a quicker result.

How does the TPE & silicone stain remover creme work:

As mentioned the creme does not (really) penetrate the TPE & silicone material.
The creme has a capillary and depth effect with "air exchange" and "resorb function".
That sounds complicated and very chemical but it isn't.
The removing effect is a very soft and harmless procedure but very strong and effective in it's functionality.

1.) The air exchange has the effect to neutralize and dismantle stains and soilings inside the TPE & silicone material.
You can see this effect before removing the dried creme.
The creme has dried bubbles.

2.) The creme has the effect to resorb the neutralized and dismantled stains and soilings.
You can see this effect after removing the dried creme.
The dried creme is now a bit darker underneath (from the resorbed stains and soilings)

3.) Because of the created "air exchange" of the applied creme we have the aftereffect working without applied creme.

Final remarks:

The creme is no "chemical bomb", the creme is a very clever and high quality product.
It took me a long time and a huge amount of money for the development.
And I had always assisstance from my pharmacist / chemist with his laboratory.
I buy all components from this pharmacist to guarantee the best quality.
Additionally it was also my intention to have a flexible product for TPE & silicone together and to overtop the original Jinshan stain remover and it's (toxic) attributes.

Please feel free to ask me any questions.
But I please you not asking me about the used components of the TPE & silicone stain remover creme.
Please understand, this was hard and expensive development work.

Sandro from Dollstudio is always in touch with me.
At the moment we are talking about different sizes of creme boxes (20ml and 40ml).
Even with the 40ml creme box we should be beneath the prize of the 15ml Jinshan TPE stain remover.

Hello Indigo20,

It seems you have done an excellent job on the stain remover, congratulations!

If you could achieve a similar success with a product that could color TPE, to do permanent make up and tattoos, it would be a dream. Are your also working on something like this?

@George & harem: Thanks!

We hope to help resolve a common obstacle in everyday's doll usage with this stain remover.

The key features are IMHO:
  • it's non-toxic and non-hazardous, and
  • it's cross-comaptible (can be used as well on TPE as on silicone)
@VonRubber: Making a tattoo or a tan line would be a potential application of the pigments that are under development (cf. the thread about a new method to pigment TPE and silicone).

However, I have discussed this already with Indigo, and so far the pigments are not well suited for tattoos as the edges are not sharp. Maybe a follow-up product will accomplish this.

For now, you need to stick with a doll that offers tattoos as a customization option. For example, Z-Onedoll has a dozend tattoos to choose from.

Thank you all for the welcome.

My registration on TDF is new, but I'm an old guest and also a very old doll owner.
I do not take pictures of my dolls (current: 4woods CC Body and OR 156 G).
My focus was on the German doll community and there I was admin for the TPE section of the forum helping new TPE doll owners with all the TPE material tests I did.

Sandro, thank you for pointing it out.

At the moment I'm reworking the whole color pigment method.

The goal from Sandro and me is to provide a tradeable and easy to use "Doll color product line" with different colors for customizing the TPE and silicone dolls (breast nipples, pubic area and lips).
But it takes it's time.
I keep Sandro updated about the process.
