“Giggle!”

Thanks Agent, Funke, 4891d and everyone else for stopping in!
I’m very grateful to Cedar for showing me the moss explosion! It would’ve been easy to just write off yesterday as another gloomy day, and stay home and grumble. Cedar reminded me that every day is beautiful… if I’m patient enough to pay attention!
When I left my house, I honestly didn’t know if I’d take any photos. I told myself it was ugly outside… but I was going anyway… even if it was just to get some exercise. As expected, almost nobody was out in the Forest with us. I only saw 2 other people in the 2 hours Cedar and I were out. All the other Hoomans were staying home and watching TV. All I can say is…
If you have little Luvs, please take them outside to play!
I got a lot of beautiful photos of Cedar yesterday… and I love sharing them here with all of you… but it’s impossible to share how wonderful it was just being in the Forest and seeing Cedar playing on the moss with my own eyes!
There were moments when I stood back and just stared at her… so beautifully nestled in a sea of green. Every time I thought I was done taking photos, she’d find another patch and giggle at me… and out would come the camera again.
My walk in the gloomy weather was magical… thanks to Cedar!

More Moss Fun
I wonder what Cedar and the moss are up to?

“Just being pretty… Giggle!”
Certainly are!
The moss is still looking amazing… but now, it’s covered in fine little reddish stems. Everywhere you look in the Forest, it’s doing the same thing. I don’t know much about the habits of moss, but I have a feeling I know what’s up…
The moss is blooming!

Of course, I’m likely wrong… I’m no botanist. I come to the Forest for Beauty.
Today is no different… it’s beautiful in all manner of subtle ways. I decided to come out late today. I had been working on projects and Spring cleaning around the house all morning, when I hit a lull in my creative energy flow.
Thankfully, I’m learning to switch gears when these low-energy times happen… and do something completely different. I’ve never been able to just force myself to persevere, and I am more likely to just give up entirely. Then I… umm… do things I shouldn’t.
“You watch too much TV!!!”

Yes I do…
But not today… today is a victory! Even though it meant being out here playing with Cedar on a Saturday afternoon when lots of other people were here. In fact, we almost got caught!
I was fiddling with my camera trying to get just the right shot, when Cedar suddenly dove into the mossy log. Imagine my surprise when I looked up and 4 people had converged on me asking if I was taking photos of the moss.
“Uhhh… yes…and the skunk cabbage.”

“You better get away from the trail silly boy… Giggle!”
Yes indeed...
I’ve been spoiled wandering around and playing with Cedar lately… we’ve mostly had the Forest to ourselves. But it was a pretty “nice” day by regular people standards. I should’ve known better than to ask Cedar to pose right next to the trail.
After all… there was beautiful moss everywhere!

More Moss Fun
I wonder what Cedar and the moss are up to?
I read this to mean that Cedar and the moss were in league with each other and working together on something!
And I suppose they may have been! If you're right about the flowering, then by touching one moss and then another Cedar is acting as a pollinator? (Also not a botanist)
Watching Cedar is definitely better than TV! Thanks for sharing!

I have never looked at moss in such detail. This little nymph is truly the best guide to discovering the beauties of the forest.

Thanks Pia, Agent, 4891d, Lone and everyone else for stopping by!
Unfortunately, we are having a cold snap come through this week… and even a prediction for snow on the first day of Spring…..Ugh!
I wonder if Cedar will put her bear suit back on???

Hey, if SF is responsible for this I'm not going to belittle his god-like powers by calling his will 'crappy!' Lovely weather, SF! I really enjoyed shoveling today! Ha ha!
We've got a little more out West!
"Yeah! That doesn't look so bad, sister! It could be worse! There was grass here a few days ago! It's all soft and fluffy! I can tunnel through it like a mouse! Giggle!"
