In Memoriam Deerman

This is such a sad post for me to read. I had the great pleasure of meeting John at the UK meet and from the start he was such an easy guy to get along with.
He left a great impression on me and I always remember him very fondly.
He took an immediate liking to Hanna and we spent many hours with him on our photo shoots over the weekend.

One great guy. He will be missed here as well as by his family and my most sincere condolences go to his family.

This news is a punch in the gut. John was well liked by *everyone* that knew him. Easy going, open-minded, thoughtful, and encouraging to all doll lovers.

John was actually the first doll person I met face-to-face. He greeted me just as I arrived to the Hershey meet in 2013. He walked me over to meet Erica, his beautiful doll that essentially stood in to fill the void his amazing wife left when she passed away. John and Erica were my introduction to the best the doll community can offer, and I will remember them fondly.

Thank you, John. I intend to pay forward the kindness you showed me. Rest in peace, friend.

I'm deeply saddened to hear Deerman has passed in to the beyond, I enjoyed the many threads on the forum that he posted and responed to he was a wonderful man to all on this place we call home. he will be missed. though i never got to meet him his presence here made it special.

Our deepest condolences and sympathies for John and his family and friends,

May he find peace and tranquility a little further on, Just past the pond, the last deer trail on the left.

Deerman was a fantastic contributor for over 7 1/2 years, posting 8376 thoughts in topics on the forum.

His final post here was wishing a fellow member a Happy Birthday viewtopic.php?p=1560927#p1560927

He was a staunch contributor to all birthday topics and ensured he shared his well wishes with others, and he will be sadly missed for his wonderful contributions to the forum and the doll hobby.

I'm grateful to have gotten to meet Deerman here but sad I never got to meet him in person. I was thinking about this a lot today and how, so many folks I feel closest too are on-line and I've not gotten to meet in real life. Say what you will about on-line, FB and other places but for so many of us they are literally a lifeline and a place that is positive and caring. This is such a tremendous gift and whenever folks get all upset about the internet maybe they need to pause and think about how amazing this is...

RIP, Deerman. I send his family and friends much love and hope to still get to meet him someday.

DR & I never got to meet him.

We only know his name from seeing it whenever we'd go to the Eye Candy forum.

We can't believe he's gone.

Newbie here, but I've seen a lot of Deerman's contributions as I explore the forums. Yet another esteemed friend of many whom I will never have the privilege of knowing, but I shall continue to keep an out for Deerman as I continue to review existing threads. Fair winds, following seas, and blue skies.
