Re: Kaley 2.0 164D N24
First thing, I am overall very happy with Kaley 2.0 she looks amazing and feels as good as she looks, and is still in perfect condition. The new double jointed skeleton is far superior when it comes to movement and poseability. After one month none of the joints have loosened up at all, I ordered Kaley with tight ankle, knee, and hip joints to make standing her up easier. The rest of he joints are normal tightness, the one change I would make would be a tighter back joint. The normal one is ok but because her top is so heavy a tight joint would have been better. The new knee joints are fantastic, the old ball joint knees were very strong but limited in movement and had a tendency to be slightly unstable when tying to stand a doll the size of a 164D. The range of movement with the new knees is great you can bend lower legs almost parallel with the upper. The knee joint has a stop so the leg can't bend the wrong way and will not rotate when the legs are straight so they are more stable when standing. So far her hands are still good, no wire pokes. The hinged wrists are great. The double jointed elbows have great range of movement and the same stop on them so they cant be bent backwards. The shrugging shoulders have better range of movement than the old skeleton. The neck has a joint at the top and bottom of the the neck which looks more natural. Something that is not as good on the new doll is the head connector, my two older dolls the the skull and neck insert were made of hard resin and fit together pretty well. My new doll has a skull and neck fitting made of a high density foam, its lighter and feels cheaper. It also kreeks when ever the head moves and doesn't fit as well as the resin one. so far this is the only negative thing i have to say about 6YE quality on this new doll.
The TPE seams quite good, I did not get the oil free powderless option because like my other 6YE dolls the TPE is minimally oily and dose not need much powder at all. It has been very durable, Kaley took a tumble off the bed about three weeks ago and there was not a scratch.
The makeup is a lot better on this doll than my others, by this time my on first doll the makeup had come off and she had lost her eyelashes. This may be partly to do with the fact that this is my third doll and I am much more experienced now. Kaley 2.0 came withe a great wig I chose it because it was a style I didn't already have. I have about four or five wigs some factory and some real human hair, but the the factory wig I got with Kaley 2.0 is thick, feels pretty natural, fits great, and has been tangle free so far, so I keep it on her.
In conclusion Kaley 2.0 is the best 6YE doll I have owned yet and I am very happy with her. I only hope she continues to age well.

I feel like this has been coming for awhile, from the beginning I expressed some concern that her back joint did not seem tight enough for her weight. last night while moving her like normal her back joint went totally loose. today after more closely examining her back I could feel that the hinge was loose but not broken, however there was something broken inside it felt like a cotter pin maybe.
Sorry I did not take pictures I was too pissed off.
It took some time for me to work up the courage to make a one inch cut in her back just over the joint. After probing the opening I was able to determined that a spacer washer in the joint had shattered leaving a gap that left the joint loose and useless. I used a 16 mm wrench and allen key to tighten the joint back up. I made it much tighter than the factory did and she feels solid again. The only scary part is I had to use xylene to try and seal the wound which can cause more damage some times. The incision was small and in a low stress area so I hope the repair holds.
In conclusion if ordering a heavy 6ye doll with the new skeleton I highly recommend a tight back joint. I never had any problems with the ball joints on any of the other 6ye dolls I have had, so even thought they are more flexible than the ball joint I don't like the new back joint.

As for the surgery aftermath she has a small scar now and repaired back joint. Her other back joint, the one the allows her to move side to side is a little loose now so I will watch it carefully because I don't want to have to operate again. All the joints that I ordered extra tight are still just as tight as they were when I got her, the normal joints have all loosened up a little or in the case of her back, a lot. So on a hevy doll like the 164D I recommend tight joints if you want to stand her up.

The gloves have been mostly successful at protecting her hands although one finger wire seems to be loose, a hand surgery may be in the future. Her joints are still good including the on I had to tighten a few months back. The eye makeup and eyelashes from the factory still look great, including the eyebrows. The quality of this doll is with out a doubt better than the other two 6ye dolls I have owned.
Here are a couple of photos, I decided to squeeze Kaley into her jeans again!

Thanks for sharing.
I love the LHP of the 6YE dolls, and that is #1 priority for my second doll.
I have read joint/skeletal concerns before for this brand though, so that is quite concerning.
Thanks for sharing, and I will continue to follow this thread.
Godspeed.

Kaley is still holding up just fine, I still find it difficult to keep my hands off her
I did have to go in and reopen her back recently, the joint repair I did was fine for a long time but did loosen up a week ago. It was my fault however, the nut that holds the joint tight came loose because I did not use anything to secure it. The nut was originally spot welded on the bolt to keep it from coming off, so I had to tighten it up again and use Loctite on it. Hopefully I don't have to operate again because as you can see in the picture her scar is a bit worse.
On a positive note Kaley looks great in her new shorts and top!
