Isn't it bad to put silicone in tpe (or even make silicone touch tpe)? I read something about how silicone can cause the tpe material to deteriorate due to differences in their chemical compositions.

Arthur1960 is the experienced bloke when it comes to repairs and has used the Permatex stuff on tpe dolls.
Once fully cured it is as impermeably tough as bootstraps, probably why it's used to seal windscreens :)
