What material is best use to cover up a clean linear tear?

Post by CipherLo »

Is there a specific glue I can use to repair a TPE doll that has a clean linear tear?
Its on the leg lower half. It can be easily cover up with long socks but I am not sure if I sure leave it as is or seek out some sort of repairing reagent.

I used this to fix tears on my doll's elbows.

Sorry to hear your girl has some damage, but it happens to all of them sooner or later. You can use xylene, or alternatively liquid poly, and most doll vendors sell TPE glue, although it's often very expensive to buy it that way. However you have be really careful using solvent with TPE as you can end up doing more harm than good...believe me, I know. You will often get better results using a heat gun to melt the surfaces back together and there's less chance of making the damage worse that way. Can't be too specific about which way to go without seeing a photo of the damage, but anyway hope this helps.

In my experience, the toughest part of TPE repair when using a solvent is making sure that there's no tension in the flesh that would pull it further apart. You have to massage it toward the cut from all sides and then be prepared to keep it squeezed together while the repair sets.
