Xanator - Too many questions! You need to do like I did and just try your ways forward by testing. Yes, get a heat gun with option for heat setting and start low. Mine goes from 1-6 and 3 is the best for TPE.

It's adjustable thus making nipple coloring with powdered color quite easy.

Big thanks, Brunch, for your fearless pursuit of DIY solutions in so many areas of doll maintenance, repair, and alteration, and for sharing your discoveries! As a new doll owner, I'm going to look for food color powder, for starters, and I'm sure I'll be back to your threads when the inevitable ding/bump/damage occurs during photo shoots. You've done a lot to help de-mystify TPE construction for this newbie, and I really appreciate it. Skol!

This is an interesting idea. On mine I've used very dark lipstick, buying the stuff that boasts long lasting. I put it on, let it sit for an hour, then blot it off thoroughly. The remaining stain is pink, so I do lips, nips, and more lips. Different shades leave slightly different shade stains, lasts a good many months, fades with oil but not completely unless I oil and blot a bunch to intentionally remove it.

your method is my choice too, i want to change the areola color with time, sometimes very light pink like a young girl and sometimes darker from fertility pregnancy. Or sometimes a tone darker than skin.

What do tou use to blot it?
Do you have lip gloss color examples that will leave a pink after blot?

For blotting, and for almost everything on my dolls I use lint free paper towels. The ones I get come in a box from Walmart's automotive section.
I didn't have any luck with lip gloss, so since the few we have here don't stain we just use them as lip gloss.
Have you found a brand that yields results?
For light pink I use a bright red, like fire engine red.
