Even as a kid I suffered from poor hand-eye co-ordination and could never make scale model kits work; so it was LEGO as a kid, then when I grew up and computers became available, my artistry became video game levels and mods, as the editing software does the physical placement for you; and of course doll photography (though make-up is still a bitch) 8)
Ah, LEGO. Didn't discover those until my grandnephew came along. Use to play with his all the time.

Okay, played my hunch the Bratz Cruiser is closer to 1:9 scale than 1:12 and got myself an 8 inch figure to test out the theory. Who better to drive an old school low-rider convertible than Willie Nelson? He looks great in this thing too.

The interior is designed for a larger doll, so I'll need to move the seats up a bit, but other than that he looks like the perfect size.

Thanks. Yeah, the seats are removable. Just have to reverse the pegs. Almost like someone at the factory already thought of that. :D

Thanks! Adjusting the seats turned out to be easier than I thought. Just a couple new holes in the bottom of each seat! 8)

Dang… why can’t my doll car projects be that easy…

Oh wait… I just remembered your beetle painting project…

Well… a little simple solutions go a long way towards boosting morale for the tough stuff. Willie is looking great!!!

Yeah, it's really neat. I've been wanting one of those for sometime. Plus, it's an excuse to buy more dolls! :D

That car was fine right out of the box. Seat thing was just a minor detail made easy by the fact that they're separate pieces and not molded in. The Beetle project is another story, further complicated by my inability to leave well enough alone.

So what do you do when you're already struggling to complete one Barb car project? Why, buy another of course!

Saw this incomplete Cali-girl Chevy SSR pickup on eBay a few weeks ago and couldn't resist. They originally came with a built in CD player and that part was missing on this one, so the seller placed a pretty low starting bid it. I ended up being the only bidder and got it for a song!

Ah, but that's where the drama began. You see, though it was sent out right away, the seller elected to pack it in a discarded liquor box. Well, sending liquor through the mail is illegal in the US. You can't even use the box it came in to ship other items. Nevertheless, somehow the package was accepted on the seller's end and traveled some 1500 miles without once being flagged.

So it gets to our local post office. Still no flag and is sent out for delivery. Now as luck would have it, our regular letter carrier had the day off. The relief driver sees the packaging and rather than just delivering the damn thing since it's already on his truck, takes it back to the post office. There for the first time in it's long journey, it's flagged and returned 1500 miles back to the sender.

Two weeks after it was originally sent, the seller receives the package back. They take it back to their post office, where the entire box is simply put into a brown paper bag and re-sent at no additional charge. So another week goes by and I finally get my Cali-girl SSR. And of course after being thrown around for weeks, it arrive with the windshield pushed in a bit. :?

Ah, doesn't it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing our tax dollars are being put to good use and not even common sense can interfere with federal rules and regulations? Why, I feel like rushing out and hugging a senator right now!

As an aside, looks like someone has his eye on the SSR already. Barb vehicles are notorious for being under-scale. This one is no exception, even more so than my Barbie Beetles. 1/6 dolls fit and look okay behind the wheel, but look ridiculous standing beside it. However, as I discovered with my Bratz Cruiser, 1/9 scale (8 inch) figures look just right, inside and out. 8)

Another Christmas gift to myself just arrived! :noel2:
Got this bad boy off eBay. It's the Bratz Harley Chopper from around 2003. Under scale like most doll rides, but like their cars, fit's 8 inch figures pretty good. Seller listed it as having no damage or defects. Guess peeling chrome, bent forks and missing parts don't count...

Any who, not that bad for what I paid. Already fixed the fork issue and I'm working on reproducing what's missing. Lights work and it makes real Harley sounds when you push the gas cap! 8)

Funny thing about the scale of Bratz cycles though. 1/6 figures don't look all that bad on them either. :D

Well, Billie is only 10 inches tall. Taller 1:6 dolls do look a little odd. 🛵
