More problems with the 165 n cup

Post by mcidcbcmd »

It seems that the 165 n cup I ordered keeps on getting worse. If you haven’t read my original post about the mess 6ye created you can do so here:
viewtopic.php?f=383&t=147978

But this thread is about her ankle. I got the doll about a week ago and her left ankle is already giving way. I’ve not moved her around much at all but noticed it several days ago and it’s getting worse. Unfortunately with these heavier dolls standing feet and ankle strength is very important. Due to her weak ankle sometimes she falls forward which is very frustrating. I contacted my vendor and 6ye, my vendor is doing all he can but 6ye seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. This whole process really has been bad but what’s worse is how poor 6ye had been throughout. They don’t respond to emails and aren’t doing anything to fix this. This doll seems like one you’d get from a bogus website? I don’t know what 6ye is really about, but buyer beware! 2k later I have a doll that’s not what I was promised or quality They talked about.

See videos below of left ankle compared to the right. The left one is the bad one, notice how loose it is.

I'm speechless, that's really frustrating and the tpe of her soles are looking really bad after this short time.
And the worst the behaviour of 6YE, that's not how to deal with the customer.

I have the same problem with Rashona, my WM172B: her left angle went loose and floppy, just like your girl's, within days of her arrival, but only in the rotational plane - up and down is fine.

Her right ankle, on the other hand, is very stiff in the rotational plane, but not too bad up and down.

This lack of consistency of joint adjustment is one of my pet beefs.

At some stage, I shall summon up the courage to attempt to tighten the loose ankle.

Her soles are also a bit messy, due to the softness of the TPE, but you can mitigate this by unscrewing the bolts so that their heads are well clear of the sole when she's standing.

Pretty crap customer service from 6YE, I note.
My girls:
Sophie - JY 175 (JY Head #167)
Valentina - JY 175 (JY Head #101)
Kiania - Sino 161 (Heads S6 & S7)
Rashona - WM 172B (WM Head #64)
Helga - JY 166 (JY head #101)
Patsy - JY 166 (JY Head #102)
Ingrid - JY 166 (SM Head #76)
Monique - JY 165SR (JY Head #134)

This lack of consistency of joint adjustment will remain pretty much par for this industry until it becomes highly automated

There is also the fact that there are more than enough styles of torque wrenches out there and in the grand scheme of things when it comes to tools used for the production of goods, they aren't even expensive :?

If my Y6E 163I has such a problem, I will be annoyed. She’s a big girl too, and I will need the feet.

I have a hip joint that seized up. I forced it to move by applying massive pressure. I had hoped that once I got it moving again it would be alright. I was wrong. It siezed again. So if I want to mover leg I have to risk breaking her every single time. With amount of force needed to move the hip joint something else is destined to break. I unboxed her on January 7th and the joint seized on the 16th. 9 days she was perfectly fine then suddenly she's screwed up. It's been maddening and disappointing both. I really try to be understanding and all that jazz but I'm very displeased by the "supposed quality" of the brand. My doll was also over 2k with the options. Oh and BTW, the disassembly option is very difficult to work with. The release coupling is hard to depress to take the legs off. I did it once bare handed but I will have to come up with a tool for it. I am struggling with that as well which was an important feature for me because I am a trucker and she's in the truck with me.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the color issue as well. My girl is a tan color. I found out the hard way that she's not actually tan, she's very caucasian in color but has a tan color coating over top of her fair skin. A couple of weeks in and I am seeing places where the tan is coming off. Places that I used mineral oil to clean extra well because of usage. Just thought I would mention this because someone could be very upset about losing that tan color over time. Myself, it won't be a big deal. I actually like the lighter skin tone, makes them look more Japanese than pacific islander. Only thing is that I will need to oil head to toe a couple of times to get all the fake tan off. I doubt most people would expect the color to be added over the top this way, I know that I thought the color was actually in the tpe itself and that she was that color all the way through. Nope. Not the case at all. Again, for me it will be even better in the end, but for someone else this might be a huge issue.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was the official outcome of your dolls problem?

My vendor was awesome, I had a few options:
1. for a return and get a new doll.
2. Two free heads.

Honestly I couldn’t go through all the steps to wait out for a new doll… just too much of a hassle. I opted for two free heads but actually sold the doll locally for half of what I paid. After my long experience I’ve given up on tpe dolls.

Currently I’m saving for a RealDoll… don’t think I’d ever buy a 6ye doll again, to many issues.
