Merry Christmas is one thing, and all ok. New year is an entirely different matter, and one I can not approve of. I´m sorry about this. Is it really happy when you think about it?! Why does everyone says happy. Because when you think about it, it really isn´t going to be very happy. is it?!
Well, anyway... Have a happy then if that is truly what you mean with this Year new thingy.

Wishing one a 'Happy New Year' does no harm to anyone; it is simply a thought that everyone you say this too does, in fact, have a happy new year at the end of the new year.

I'm hopeful that 2022 is a good and happy year for you!
