Creating a face for my doll

Post by tommy_tucker »

I been trying to find a life size head for my home made doll and had no luck so now i will make the head myself just like i made the rest of the doll, but what do i start with? ..clay? I want to make the face to start with and i need something like clay to sculpt a face and then take a mould from with latex. So what is best to sculpt from and to take a latex mould from? The face will be made to look like alicia silverstone.

Post by timetraveler1 »

the easiest head to use would be a hair dresser head it has the hair and face , etc. all done , just put it on your doll i have one that i can sell you for $10.00 plus shipping cost . if your interested e-mail me . that cost is what i payed for it but never used it for my project . :)

Thanks! but the hairdresser heads i've tried are a little on the small side just a shame really. Also i wan't a head with a sertain character like alicia-silverstone. I could always have the head made for me by a custom props and fx company found on the net but cost is a concern. I think i could do a good job making the head myself but just for now i'm looking for a temporary head like the ones on top range blowup dolls.
