Resizing iron

Post by Fantastic Plastic »

Here is my very first completely custom built TPE doll vaginal resizing iron, heating element is incased inside the end detail bulb only so it doesn’t get hot towards the handle.
Major upgrade from my minimally modified soldering iron!

Looks nice and clean and probably very easy to use. Does it have temperature control so it won't damage the TPE/etc, and just get hot enough to remelt it?

Do you have a way to secure it in place while it's doing the work of melting and then cooling back down, or do you have to hold it the whole time?

Could you post details of how it was built, and what parts were used?

I'd posted some pics of a method I used for other plastic remolding for other purposes over here
viewtopic.php?p=2073357#p2073357
but what you have is designed for the purpose, and would be much better for people to be able to use (they wouldn't need to adapt my info to their purpose).

Yes, no fixture or stabilization provision.
Iron is machined aluminum with a 6mmX80mm 100 watt 220 volt mold heater cartridge inside it.
Running the cartridge at 110 VAc seems to supply just the right amount of heat. (Still need to test)
Stem is 8mm stainless steel tube TIG welded to 10 and 12mm tubes and then pressed into a drilled out file handle.

I wish this forum had "Thanks" buttons. That's a really neat project you have there.

So I take it this is to use instead of the rework station hot air adaptor shown here, used for enlarging the mouth of the orfices in conjunction with the soldering iron?

People ask me if I'm all right?
I plainly tell them, "I'm half left, actually."

Any idea if this would work on silicone?

Sorry, it will not.
TPE is the only material that will support this technique.

TPR should also work (it's also a thermoplastic, and has been reported to be what Fleshlights are made from, and possibly some other "toys").

Unfortunately silicone needs to be cast into the shape you want it to have, and isn't remoldable thermally like TPR and TPE.
