Head stand

Post by narasinha »

Various shops sell head stand. They are often small, unstable and over priced. Here is what you need for a M16 compatible stand:

A cheap tripod (less than $10 on Aliexpress) or use your own:

An 1/4 female to M8 male adapter for camera (less than $3):

A M8 inside / M16 outside threaded nut coupler adapter (around $3) :

Work with screw or quick connector heads. Can also be used to hold the head while washing implanted hairs.

Good recap above for a cheap one that comes in at around $15. However, I would need a tripod that had a pretty good height-adjustment.
I bought a head stand awhile back from Coeros and it works well. I got the tall version (yes, it's stable) that's on the right in the photo below, because my gal has a LOT of hair.

I'd also imagine that one might be able to find a similar candle holder that could easily be modified. That's what I first looked at doing, but didn't see any that really stood out to me, so I decided to save myself the trouble and just pay for one that I didn't have to do any after-market messing around with.

This Is great! I didn't know there was an M8/M16 adaptor, I will be getting one so I can convert all the tripods I have into doll head stands!

Just today, I made myself my first cheap doll head stand using some bolts off of Amazon and an old lamp base I had lying around:

Spent about £12 for 4x the bolts and nuts, will be enough for a few heads!!

I had a table top mic stand and added a plastic coupler.
